Bachelorette party with a pregnant bridesmaid

Hithere, on March 14, 2021 at 8:38 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 14
My MoH and I are brainstorming ideas for bachelorette party. We have one bridesmaid that will be 20 so we can’t do any drinking. One thing we thought of was going to an amusement park. I know everyone one of my bridesmaids would have a ton of fun, but we ran in to one issue. One of the bridesmaids is hoping to be pregnant by the time of the bachelorette party and won’t be able to enjoy the rides. Is this something I should take in to consideration because if that’s the case, I have no idea what we could do instead that would be fun and memorable and “me” since it’s supposed to be like the brides last hurrah. Is it up to me to change my bachelorette party plans for someone who might be pregnant? I feel selfish for even asking 😩

I wouldn't take it into consideration. She isn't even pregnant yet, and if she is, she might not be able to join depending on how the pregnancy is going. Do whatever you want or whatever your girls are willing to throw for you. Not everyone needs to be there.

Already pregnant? Yes, I'd consider changing it for sure. But hoping to be pregnant? No way. It can take a person a long time to get pregnant--I'm hoping to be pregnant, and currently it's taken me over a year! Plus, there is plenty to do at an amusement park besides ride the rides. Games, food, etc.

I wouldn't schedule your plans around someone who isn't currently pregnant. It took us just over a year of trying for me to get pregnant and like the other poster mentioned there are other things she could do if she's even up to go if she would be pregnant.

Definitely don’t plan this around somebody who “might” be pregnant.

Plan what you want to do. It is seeet that you are keeping that person in mind though. Sometimes a good bachelorette party is enjoying some girl time and pampering y’all’s self. That’s what I would do regardless of someone being pregnant. I was never one for a big blow out just something small an personal.

If she's not even pregnant yet i wouldn't worry about it. If it were me, i'd probably try to have one portion of the day/event that she could attend though. Maybe amusement park til 5pm and then out for a fun dinner? Or go out for brunch and then to the park?

As everyone else said, I wouldn't plan around someone maybe being pregnant. I wouldn't even plan around her if she was pregnant because it's your day and she might not even want to attend depending on how she's feeling. Also, there are other fun things to do at an amusement park besides rides (I know that's the whole point and all, but still), like play games, watch a show or have some good food. Sometimes I just like people watching when I'm at places like that. So I would stick with what you want to do and if she's pregnant by then, she can decide whether she wants to partake in the activities or sit it out.

I think it's being considerate. We will be having my bachelorette party next month, and one of the guests told us she's pregnant. Since we only have 7 people attending, we changed our activities for the pregnant woman. Did you ask her how does she feel about the rides?

Rides with shaking or spinning as well as roller coaster stuff would be out. Are there enough things to do otherwise? I never go on any of those things anyway, and I have a fine time at amusement parks. And, a bach is not about indulging every whim of the bride. It is about the company, all sharing the experience. So bride may not get her #1,2,or 3thing

No, shes not even pregnant yet lol. If she becomes pregnant, she can either go and just do everything hut the rides or she just wont go. But I would definitely not let that influence what you do for your bachelorette if shes not even pregnant now

I definitely think there are options for someone who doesn't want to or can't ride the rides at an amusement park - from games to food to photo booths to shows, there are usually options. But there may be other ways you can incorporate her in on the fun - maybe you can do a scavenger hunt or "bingo card" type game where the first girl to find the most amusement park/carnival items on the list or fills her bingo card wins a prize? I can think of a bunch of fun things like "kid or parent with stuffed animal prize larger than the kid" or "selfie in front of a costumed entertainer". That would help keep her engaged even when everybody else is riding rides.
