Bachelorette party?

Futuremrs, on May 29, 2019 at 6:32 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 5
Backstory: I had figured I wasn't having a bachelorette party. I only have a MOH and tbh, she's a very conservative sahm of 6 who homeschools her kids. A) she's very busy and B) it's just not her thing. So I figured no party and that was fine. Well, my FH mentioned it to his sister and asked if she would throw me a party. I was a little upset because it makes it look like I asked him to ask her. He feels guilty that I'm watching his daughter while he goes to Atlantic City with his brother for his bachelor party. That was a couple of weeks ago and I thought I'd heard the last of it. Tonight he told me "if my sister asks you for drinks, you should go." I finally weaseled out of him that apparently my FSIL is planning something as a bachelorette party for me after all. Possibly with some of his female family members. I think I'm kind of excited!

That's great! Bridal showers and bachelorettes don't have to be thrown by the bridal party. If your FSIL wants to throw you the party, that's amazing and I hope you have a great time!

That is like groomside showers that are more "welcome to the family" than gatherings with old friends. How nice! At the MOG given shower I attended, I got to know some if the women, mostly FI sisters and aunts, I had previously only met when we went 6 hours south, and so MOG would have big, 20-35 person family dinners. Which, in that family, men dominate. It was so nice to meet these women, as much as 10 years older and 10 years younger sisters, and a handful of teenage nieces, with no SO. More like friends than " HIS FAMILY ". Less intimidating. Enjoy it!
