Your bachelorette should be hosted and planned by someone else. If they offer, you can mention that you want something out of state, but you should make sure it’s within everyone’s budget who is participating.

My moh knows where I want to go, but she isn't great on staying on top of planning, so to make sure everyone can afford it, I feel like planning shouldn't wait till right before

I'm in the same shoes. My MOH and I agreed on a destination and we started looking at places but she kinda stopped now. I am about 7 months from my out of state party and have found a place to stay and a mode of transportation for all of us. I sent the links to my MOH who was thankful for the assistance. She is taking care of it all now. (MOH is in grad school and has a busy schedule) Dont let "traditions" keep you from making sure you have the party you've dreamed of Smiley smile

I started "planning" shortly after I got engaged around december. I looked into who I wanted to invite and do. I'm doing mine the beginning of june and was noticing that places are booking up quickly which is why I took it into my own hands. I told my MOH that I'd be done jumping into all the plans now that the important things were booked. I'm glad I'm not alone in wanting to plan and make sure bachelorette goes as we've always dreamed! Goodluck in everything!

My out-of-state bachelorette party in Atlanta is 3 1/2 months away. My Matron & Maid of Honor are planning everything so I'm not sure when they started but I think it was about a month after the engagement. There are a total of 11 girls going so my Matron of Honor booked 2 suits for 2 nights last month so that we could ensure it wouldn't get booked by someone else. Our hotel is in the middle of Downtown Atlanta so we know there will probably be a lot of other events happening at the same time we're there.

I know they started researching things to do about a month after my engagement, which would've been 8 months out, but they've kept me out of the loop of everything since they want it all to be a surprise. I only requested one thing for the whole trip, and that was attending an aerial yoga class.

My MOH consulted me about my bachelorette party 14 months out. It was a "destination" bachelorette for me and my 6 bridesmaids that were able to go.

My MOH asked me to contact my grandparents about using their timeshare in June about a month and half ago. This weekend we talked a little bit more about what I was wanting and she started making a list of everything she wants/needs. I plan on letting her know that she should probably tell the other girls mid to late next month so people have time to request off work and book flights.

I would say the earlier the better, so you can give people as much time as possible to budget. My bach party will likely be Jan/Feb of 2021 and I have already talked about some ideas with my MOHs. It is in state for me, but all of my BMs will be traveling at least a few hours with one coming from out of state.

People usually do not plan parties on their own honor. And your friends or family or bridesmaids who plan it may only want to spend the time or money for a traditional single evening or afternoon, not a group vacation. Wait to see what they are planning for you. If they are interested in a multi-days trip, and they say it first, fine. But do not act as though you expect something more than they may be willing or able to give.
