Bachelorette Party

Maria , on August 4, 2019 at 5:37 PM Posted in Ohio Planning 0 6
Hi everyone! For my bachelorette party we are thinking of going to Put in Bay for the weekend. I’ve never been, but when my MOH was looking at Airbnb options we noticed that staying off the islands was cheaper than obviously staying on them. I am wondering if any of you have stayed on or off the islands and can tell me if it is better to be on them to get the “full experience” or if staying off the island and taking the Lake Erie Ferries would be just as fun? Also, any fun ideas to do while there would be appreciated too! Thanks!

Stay on the Islands!!! Boats and planes don't run past a certain time, so if you miss your ticket off the island, you will have to hope you can find somewhere to stay for the night. It's a wonderful place to have a bach but if you cant get to a bed once you're ready for one you'll be miserable. Either that, or make plans to get off the island early so if you end up running behind you wont be as likely to miss the last trip off the island

    Hi there Maria!

I’ve never been to Put-in-Bay, however, I have visited other islands and there has always been that fear in the back of my mind of missing the last ferry from the island. Personally, I know I would be constantly looking at the clock and not able to completely unwind. If it was within my guests budget, I would choose to stay on the island rather than traveling each day.

What do you plan on doing on the island? Will it be mostly day activities and no night time activities? If so, you wouldn’t need to worry about missing the last ferry as much!

That’s a very good point. I’m wanting to do both daytime and nighttime activities and I know of the bar life around there so there would definitely be the possibility of missing the ferry. I think staying on the island is gonna be the best bet with my group! Thank you for the help!

I would for sure stay on the island. As the others have said there is the chance of missing the last ferry. You also have to add in the price of ferry/jet express tickets for everyone there and back so that adds up as well. On jet express it’s still 25 mins one way and I believe $20 per person for one way. If you do the ferry it’s cheaper but takes twice as long to get there. My opinion is it’s worth to stay on the island. It is so much fun you’ll have a blast!!
