Bachelorette planning

Cassi, on May 21, 2020 at 2:19 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 4
So we have just decided to continue on our planning per usual for the wedding. Our wedding date is in 2011 so we won’t totally freak out until we are closer to that time of year. That being said, we decided on having our bachelorette be joint. We have picked Chicago as our place of party. It wouldn’t be too costly for us and our friends-it’s only about a 4 hour drive from where we live. We are thinking about a month before the wedding And making it about a 3-4 day party 🤩 Has anyone had their bachelorette there or even just been to Chicago to vacation? What are some recommended things to do? I know they have a beach I’m excited for that part 😁

While it sounds fun, 3-4 days is a lot to ask people to come to a party of any kind. I'm doing a bachelorette weekend at a local beach and even then half my bridesmaids aren't going to be able to come to the whole thing! Does your bridal party have children/jobs that will require them to find childcare or request off?

Chicago is a fantastic city, and I love visiting there. There's a lot to do even besides the bars, and depending on the season you could catch a bears game or a baseball game!

Yes to all of the above. I have put the word out for them already but none of it is set in stone. I was thinking like a Thursday-Saturday thing or even Friday-Sunday. More so 3 and not 4 days. Just something for all of us to get away for a minute and celebrate outside of where we reside. I’m excited to see what there is to offer and I have never been to a local beach before so I’m especially excited for that part 😁

One of my bridesmaids had her bachelorette party in Chicago and we had an amazing time!! If you can all bunk up and split rooms (we did 4 girls per room) - there are cheap hotel options downtown. Also Chicago has bars open super late (compared to DC at least 😉) and tons of cheap dining options - so the weekend was one of our most affordable ones!!

On our first day we headed to Wrigleyville and went barhopping - they've got all sorts of fun bars with games, batting cages, karaoke, etc! We also did an architecture river tour which was really fun, especially on a nice day!!
