Bachelorette Planning

Kelly, on April 25, 2022 at 10:26 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6

Hey there!

So I'm the MOH in my sister's wedding. I'm currently planning her bachelorette. Her bridesmaids are from all over the country (Portland, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Arizona etc.) She wants to do her bachelorette in Savannah, GA, but I'm worried that for those who are flying in from the west coast, 3 days will be a very quick turn around (since check-in for the airbnb is at 4, it's like they'd really only be spending one full day in Georgia.) I checked with the crew and asked if everyone would be ok with doing a 4-day trip. Everyone said that will work - but I'm paranoid they're just being nice. One girl said she'd plan on coming Friday-Sunday (which is totally cool.) Am I being rude by asking people to take 4 days? I know when I've been to bachelorettes out of town, I wished I had an extra day ... but I don't know that everyone feels that way.

No that's not because from what my MOHS told me its will be 3-4days is a good amount of days. And if they said yes it will be better and no one will miss any of the fun. I just wait to see what these ladies have in store. Have fun ladies

I recently went to a Thursday- Sunday bachelorette in Texas - it was lovely - we all wanted the additional days though as well. I would assume people are being truthful when they say 4 days is fine with them- especially with the travel!

Just as a note. Pre-planning destination trips are fun and everyone wants to go. Once the prices start to role in and requesting off from work, it ends up becoming a different story for some of the attendees. Make sure they all have the budget for this trip. Flights, air bnb, excursions, food, uber, rentals, etc.

If not all can make the 4 days and can only make 3, it is what it is and just make the best of it, but it's a good suggestion.

I just had mine a weekend ago, and it was a Thursday-Sunday. At first when it was being planned I thought it was going to be too long, but it actually ended up great! You’re right that arrival day and departure day is kind of a wash, so having four days meant we could do all the things we wanted and have downtime to just chill and be together.

As long as the cost and dates are communicated ahead of time then I think you're fine. I agree that travel days are pretty much useless, so the 4 days should give everyone time to enjoy themselves. Side note, Savannah is a really fun area, so I'm sure no matter what it'll be great!

Savannah is a great idea, but yes, the multi-day bachelorette eats into finances and vacation time. I'd say plan it, but don't absolutely rely on everyone to keep that commitment. Everyone says yes at the beginning, but when it comes to paying, people drop out. We see it here frequently.
