Bachelorette Week Trip

Brittney, on May 20, 2020 at 2:21 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 4
Hi! My wedding is in December ( of 2024) lol. I know I have loads of time to decide on this stuff but during this pandemic I have nothing but time to plan so I figured why not? 🤷🏽‍♀️ I live in Virginia along with all my other 8 bridesmaids. Since it will be cold by the time my wedding comes around, I decided we should go to Miami for the bachelorette week, where it’s warm year round. How should I go about payment? Do I ask we take a road trip and split the cost of the VRBO or do we fly and ask them to cover their flight while I pay for the VRBO? Help! I don’t want to impose😭

The best way not to impose is to let someone else take the reins on planning. The people paying should have a say in the budget.

All that is to say that there's literally nothing for you to be planning now for a bachelorette party. Wait until closer to your wedding and then, if one of your bridesmaids asks you for your input on where to go/what to do, feel free to offer suggestions (but don't make demands).

This is what I googled and found online:

It's customary for all of the bachelorette party guests (including the bridesmaids) to pitch in to cover the bride's expenses. In the event the bride is planning a destination bachelorette party, each 'maid will typically only chip in for an evening out rather than pay for the duration of her stay.

If you’re a bride with an especially gifted financial situation but have a bridal party that doesn’t have the same luxury, you can still have a great time. You may just have to chip in a bit if you’d like to have some high-end experiences. Or, if you’d like, you can always cover the cost yourself.

Money talk with loved ones can be somewhat awkward at times. But in this case, it’s necessary. No one should go into debt over a bachelorette party.

Depending on when you're going to Miami, keep in mind it could be costly because of events in the area. So, be sure to do your research well in advance. And if you're looking at properties, anticipate a 10% increase in rates YOY.
