Bachelorette

SARAH, on June 6, 2020 at 6:24 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 5

Getting married in October and wanted to have a Bachelorette with a few friends (6-7) in August. I live in California and most of the girls coming live on the east coast, except for a few. Wanted to do it in Lake Tahoe but now considering the circumstances thinking I can fly to them and do it closer to where they live so they don't have to fly twice within two months--Maybe the Poconos....what are your thoughts on this?

I think that’s such a good idea! So I’m Moh and there’s three other bridesmaids and my bride lives in Arizona. Only one of the four of us live in Arizona.. the remainder three of us live in southern Cali. And I suggested we pay for the brides airfare to do a bachelorette here but she said no... so then the three of us have to fly to Arizona in August For a bachelorette and then also fly there for the wedding in September. And personally I just think at this point the less amount of people flying, the better but it is what it is and I think it’s really thoughtful of you to come with that idea.

I think it's really considerate of you to do it closer to them, but I'd remember that the bach party isn't really yours to plan. If they ask you for input, that's one thing, but planning it yourself isn't really the polite thing to do. I think the poconos could be a great place for a bach though, and they're pretty central to a lot of the east coast.

The bride normally doesn't plan her own bachelorette party. The planning is usually handled by the bridesmaids. The Poconos is a beautiful area. I am from Pennsylvania and we actually got married in Scranton which isn't far from The Poconos. There are a lot of things to do there, but with Covid there might not be as many options.

While it's technically on them to plan it, I'd absolutely suggest it to them, as a way to keep costs down and help decision-making.

Also, going someplace remote is a really good idea right now, and the Poconos can be really pretty.

    Have fun!
