Back stories on Yes To the Dress - do you ever wonder?

Today I saw a clip from Yes To the Dress and the bride was getting married in Tuscany. Her mom and sisters were at the dress appointment but they werne't invited to the wedding. The bride said they had to keep the guest list small, so family wasn't invited. I don't know who they invited, though.

The bride rolled her eyes at her mom when she said she was hurt at not being invited.

I wish we could KNOW the back story. Was the mom horrible? Was the bride mean? WHYY?

    They had to keep the guest list small, so they cut family??? That doesn’t make any kind of sense without a back story.

    That's what I think! And you can't tell by how they acted on camera, right? Mom seemed nice but hurt and tearful. However, she could have been a total monster. The bride seemed a bit...I don't know, kind of smug? But I know they edit like crazy on those shows!

    Yeah, from time to time, I feel like I need more that what I'm given on the show.

    I will say that I looked up one of the couples (the ones who *met* at the altar (like never met in person before) - she picked a red dress - it was easy to find) after the show. They didn't make it.

    I think I remember that, and I totally understood why she didn't bring her mom.

    If they cut family, that tells me the family is Not Healthy to Be Around.

    And, in the end, I really think it was just the two of them.
