Background Image Dimensions and File Size?

I want to insert my own custom background image that I created that matches my wedding motifs and invitations design. What dimensions does my image need to be to fit the website format?

Example Facebook banner needs to be 820 pixels wide by 312 pixels tall on computers and 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall on smartphones.
