Backyard bbq Rehearsal dinner

Rachel, on October 9, 2017 at 10:12 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

I know we still have a long ways away, but I was wondering if anyone has done a backyard type deal rehearsal dinner ? We would cater food and have a cooler full of drinks but it would more so be a "rehearsal lunch" at my parents. Since it'll be summer time I was thinking we'd be able to set up bags and stuff outside but don't know if this is tacky. Both my sisters had rehearsal dinners at restaurants. What do you guys think?

I think this is fine for a rehearsal dinner! Honestly, I prefer this more than a traditional restaurant dinner for a more laid back/ party vibe!

I think this sounds great and if either of our parents were closer to our venue we'd probably do something similar. I was thinking about picking a restaurant and saying "we're going here after the rehearsal if anyone wants to join us for a drink"

We're even making it a backyard potluck for close family and friends.

This is almost exactly what I was thinking of doing! Mine will be in September so if it's to cool we will have it inside but if it's nice we will have it mostly outdoor! I wanted to cater BBQ because it's fairly cheep and casual and I like the laid backness of doing it at someone's house rather than a restaurant!

Honestly, just sooooo much cheaper then spending $5000….when i can spend $1200 with 20 people eating….i wondered myself if it’s tacky but just nooo honestly so much more laid back and less stressful in my opinion, i think this is what we are going to do at an Airbnb and just get permissions from the owner to ensure they’re okay with it.
