Backyard Wedding

This probably isn’t the advice you were looking for, but my best advice is to skip the backyard wedding and find an all-inclusive venue. Backyard weddings are a HUGE undertaking, and usually end up costing more money (and tons more time and stress!) than just hosting at a venue. With a backyard wedding, you are going to have to rent tables, chairs, linens, napkins, silverware, plates, glasses, etc. You will also have to hire a caterer, bartender, servers to serve the food, bussers to clear away dirty plates from the tables, people to empty garbage (which fills up sooooooo fast). You will also need to think about where these people are going to use the restroom. Are you going to open your home to people traipsing in and out? If so, who is going to make sure the bathroom is stocked, the trash is taken out, and who will plunge the toilet if there is a clog or clean up puke if someone vomits? The other option is to rent porta potties, but ewwwwww. No one likes using porta potties anyway, and definitely not dressed up in nice clothing. The other thing you need to take into consideration is where people will park, and whether he will need a permit from your town to do so. You will also have to look into event permits and noise ordinances if you plan to have a DJ. You will also need a rain contingency plan. Do you plan to rent a large even tent (which is thousands of dollars) in the event of rain? There’s a lot more that goes into backyard weddings than people think about.
