bacne scars?

Linda, on June 2, 2017 at 12:09 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 19

I have suffered through back acne for most of my teen years and Have scars to show for it. I have always been really self conscious about it and usually never show my back unless my hair is loose. Well for the wedding I decided to own it and got myself a sweetheart neckline and having an updo for my hair. I know it isnt the end of the world if I do have scars but I was wondering if any of you have tried to use lemon juice or other remedies to fade acne scars? any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

I also have scars on my back. I used to break out there like crazy! I find that exfoliation really helps. A good scented or unscented scrub usually makes the skin super soft and smooth. The lemon juice remedy is meant to work over time and I doubt it would make the difference you want in less than 30 days. Makeup is an option to "spot treat". I suggest airbrush.

You're less than a month away. There's not much you can do with this little time, honestly.

Eta: If you want to fix it over time after the wedding, you might consider microdermabrasion.

A spray tan will help even out your skin tone.

Mederma! My mom used it after a knee surgery and you can barely see any scar now. My siblings and I all used it for various cuts/wounds. It's amazing.

I second @Libby. Mederma is some serious skin sorcery.

That honey mixture will probably make you break out. It made me break out, bad.

A spray tan would be your best bet this close to the wedding.

You can do those things, but hire someone to do your makeup, and they can airbrush or use dermablend. I'm sure you will look stunning and no one else will notice, but I want you to FEEL confident. Smiley smile

Exfoliation, spot treatment. Then get a tan - spray or natural. In a pinch my best avenues to a short term fix were to reduce the contrast between the scars and blemishes and the rest of my skin. For me, darkening the rest of my skin is easiest, since I'm olive.

I would definitely consider doing a little cover up with some good, stay in place makeup.

It sounds strange, but for really deep scars i use latex. I do masks and things like that for work.... and for my own scars i found that latex works really well. You have to test first for allergies.. And you have to cover up the latex with make up for an even skin tone. Sorry for my English ( i am not a native speaker)

I'm in the same boat. Here are my suggestions, they have helped me.

    1) Exfoliate. I get a Korean Body Buff 2x per month and exfoliate on my own in between. Please google it-its strange but amazing.

    2) Tan. Put in sunscreen, but spend some time in the sun. A spray tan can also work for this.

    3) Makeup. I'm having MUA spray my back with airbrush makeup to minimize the look. I went with backless, what was I thinking?

If you still have acne and want to minimize new breakouts...

    1) Bathe. I 100% make sure to rinse and scrub my back at the end of my shower. I found that residual conditioner and soap caused a lot of breakouts.

    2) Tan. Not spray tan this time, the sun has really helped me zap my zits.

It won't totally fix your scars, but I use this toner and think it's faded my scars and evened out my skin.

Own it girl. I have the same problem. I actually added straps to my dress though because of my self consciousness. If it's really bugging you, spray tan. However, you're your own worst critic.

What kind of scarring? Like pitted scars or discoloration/hyper-pigmentation? I have a lot of discoloration from freckles, sun spots and birth marks on my back. I plan on getting a spray tan to even my skin tone. For sun spots and freckles on my face I'm doing laser treatments with my dermatologist. It's pricey though. Since your wedding is coming up I'd recommend an airbrush spray tan over your whole body a day or two before the wedding. Have a good technician apply it and tell her your concerns with your back so she can focus on that area. Then on the day of let your makeup artist know and she can go on and conceal any spots that aren't masked by the tan. Don't stress-you'll be gorgeous!!
