Bad haircut

Ida, on August 18, 2022 at 3:43 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 3

Looking for advice on how to disguise a bad haircut. I'm getting married in two weeks and went to get my ends trimmed. I also asked for some face framing layers starting below my chin. Well, I got sort of blunt bangs that end around my nose. It looks like I have semi-grown out bangs. One side is also longer than the other and it looks very choppy. I'm trying to even it out and blend it a bit more, but it still looks awful. I was orginially planning on having my hair half up half down, since I'm not a fan of updos, but that just draws focus to the chopped off pieces. So I'm looking for suggestions on hairstyles that will hide just how bad this haircut is.

Also, I realize this would be really funny if it wasn't for the fact that I'm getting married.

Oh man! I’m so sorry this happened to you so close to the wedding. So frustrating! Try googling “pin back bangs” and maybe you’ll see something. I also found these hair styles. Maybe you can incorporate it into a half up half down style so you can still have that. Good luck!!

    Bird’s suggestions look awesome!

Are you having a professional hairstylist do your hair on the day of? If you give them a call and explain what happened, they can also help determine the best way to achieve the look you want on your wedding day. They’ve probably run into this many times and have experience working with that and making it look good.

Are you wearing any kind of headband or tiara? If so, you could use that to sort of hold back the pieces in front. You could also consider having them turned into full-blown bangs if it's a look you like. I know bangs aren't everyone's thing and you might not want to go anywhere near scissors, but figured I'd throw it out there.

FWIW, it does sound like the mis-cut pieces are still long enough that you'd be able to do something with them.
