Bad weather for engagement photos

Nicole, on May 31, 2017 at 8:45 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

FH and I are having our engagement photos done on Sunday and it's supposed to thunderstorm. NJ has had the most up and down weather for a few months now Smiley sad anyway, can you guys just send good vibes/prayers the weather will be better? I'm so bummed about it

Hopefully you will get good weather. Otherwise if you can reschedule I would. Wedding Day you cannot control but if you are set on outdoor pictures for engagement, consider rescheduling if possible.

@Shantel no unfortunately. FH is a police officer so his work schedule is constantly all over the place, and we planned these a few months in advance so he would have time to put in his request off. He wouldn't be available again for a while.

Overcast skies can be good for photos, but heavy rain and storms is another story :-\ I'm supposed to take family photos on Sunday, but it's calling for heavy rain all day. Fingers crossed your weather (and mine too) stays good! If not, have you talked with your photographer about rescheduling if necessary?

ETA: Just saw your comment about your FH's work schedule. That's not good! Does he ever have any "regular" days off (days you know he won't be working based on the department's schedule)? Maybe you can take a day off and have a short photo shoot with the photographer? Also agreeing with WWJo - if you can't reschedule, find a neat indoor location... inside a fancy hotel lobby, a library, coffee shop, etc.

Sending them your way! If it is overcast I say keep your appointment, grey days are great for photos! But since it is calling for some serious rain maybe you should give your photographer a call now and see whether you'd be able to reschedule in the event of rain. If you'll have to keep the date and time regardless of weather, see if the photographer can recommend some beautiful indoor locations that would be good for the shoot.

@ Nicole Ohhh ok... you guys will be ok.. the rain will hold out until after or maybe not rain at all.. I live in NJ too and we are scheduled for next sunday and right now its showing rain. If it does you guys can make unique pics with umbrellas..It would be really different!! But i think you guys will be good

One of the girls here (Flying) just got married this weekend and the photographer managed to snag the most amazing thunderbolt picture- totally by chance.

Where are you- north or south? can you go somewhere they have indoor/outdoor things?

@JoRocka I'm in south jersey but we're having our photos done at Longwood Gardens in PA (our first date was there and they just finished they're new fountain display). I'm sure our photographer would be able to work her magic because she's awesome, I'd just rather it not rain at all lol
