Baking question - liner paper for cookie favor boxes?

krisalicious, on February 7, 2012 at 4:37 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

Hello ladies!

My mom is baking cookies for our favors. We want to wrap them up in little white favor boxes and decorate the boxes.

Any suggestions for the type of paper we should use to line the boxes? I know otherwise the oil from the cookies can spot through the paper box. Should we use wax paper? Parchment paper? Any other ideas?

Thank you!

I'd go with wax paper. You could always get some of those fancy edging scissors if you wanted to make the wax paper more "pretty" =)

I think I would line the box with wax paper then put tissue paper over that is you want it more eye appealing!

Have you considered cupcake holders? I put my maple candy in a gold tin and then put them inthe box. I felt like it was more sanitary, but then again, I am weird with stuff like that.

I second what courney said, I make cookies in handmade paper boxes every year and that is what I do so I make them look appealing and keep the oil from the paper. Smiley smile

    Thank you everyone.

Carole, do you mean put the cookies in cupcake holders and then put the cupcake holders in the box?

Hmmm. I think that is a fabulously excellent idea. Cupcake holders are pretty oil-resistant too, right? Then maybe we could do a bit of paper tissue around it and maybe seal it with a label, just like regular gift wrap.

    Hmmmm.

Cupcake holders, especially the alumininum kind(gold and silver) are oil resistant. They were perfect for my maple candy. Also, I felt it appeared a bit more sanitary.

I hear you on the sanitary thing. That's not weird at all. Smiley smile

I was looking at this website for just my own personal baking & noticed they said their baking cup do not allow oil to bleed through. I think I remember them being pricey but anyway... it's an idea!
