Ball gown petticoats

LaNette, on June 3, 2017 at 10:09 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

For all you brides who wore or plan to wear ball gowns where did you get your petticoats/slips? I bought mine off Amazon and it added nothing to the dress. So I need some help getting the perfect poofy ball gown underskirt. I see they have hoop skirts but I don't want it to be too full. But hoopless may not give enough! So I need help which is better for the perfect poof under a ball gown and where did you get yours?

You probably should have addressed that issue when you bought the dress. Consultants get paid to give that advice. You should have bought everything you needed at one time vs running around at the last minute and not having what you want.

I bought mine at Davids bridal where I got my dress. It added the perfect amount of poof, even though it was more expensive than if I bought it online.

Yeah I got my dress from DB too. I was just seeing if there are other options before I go back to DB and buy it from them.

I also ordered mine from Amazon (it was $80 cheaper!) but it wasn't enough, so I took some advice I read somewhere and ordered a hooped crinoline too. When I put them both on together- massive poof and strong enough to hold up my heavy dress. I still spent way less than I would have at DB and now have more poof. I'm going to see them together so there is only one band to tie. Maybe you could try something like that.

I ended up buying the ballgown slip at DB that I tried on with my dress. It's not a huge poof difference, but it gives it the right shape and makes it way easier to walk. It's also very light which helped me to decide to get it and stay comfortable.

What's your budget? I bought mine at a small wedding boutique (I wouldn't buy from DB, honestly) and it cost nearly $200, but it did exactly what I wanted it to and held up well.

I added a hoop skirt under my dress I think it looks awesome and isn't too big. here's a photo of me in the sample dress with the four bone hoop skirt. I purchased it with my dress and the hoop skirt itself wasn't more than 200 dollars but it pulls my dress together and it's actually easier to walk in which is a huge bonus.
