Balloon Centerpieces

MissToMrs, on November 25, 2014 at 10:48 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13

Has anyone ever done giant balloon centerpieces like the ones pictured? I hate flowers and have been looking for an alternative, and I think I love this look! I am curious if anyone has done them or seen them in real life? How do they look? Would you walk in and think "ew, why are there balloon centerpieces?"

Let me know your thoughts ladies!!

I think that's a neat idea. I hate balloons (just because they can pop) but it looks ok to me. I'd be careful in picking your type of balloon and arrangement though because you'll have to be weary of not making it look like a bday party.

IMO balloons have no place at a wedding and that is a pinterest fail waiting to happen

Emmy, you just made me literally laugh out loud in a class full of students taking a test! That was great! Smiley smile

I am just so on the fence! I love how they look, but, ugh, they are balloons! I am thinking maybe some sort of sphere to get the same look??? I have no idea!

They look okay but could be a logistical nightmare. In addition to popping, wouldn't the slightest breeze blow them around, and then blow your whole centerpiece around?

I absolutely HATE balloons and would definitely be judging the bride who made them as her centerpiece. but that's just me. I don't like flowers either and chose to do Candelabras instead. There are many different alternatives to balloons.

I'm with Emmy...not a fan of balloons at a wedding. Try this at a bridal shower or a birthday party, but not a wedding. If you aren't a fan of flowers, I would look at candle heavy centerpieces as a start.

Since you asked, I'm not a fan of balloons at a wedding. Agree with Maltese, you can definitely do this if you have a shower.

Ok, so just going to be honest here. By BFF and I have walked into reception spaces where they had balloon centerpieces, or balloons anywhere and we just giggle. To us, it is totally high school prom.

I'm not a fan of flowers either. We are not having them in our centerpieces.

I love the inspiration photo you posted. I think if you added beautiful satin ribbon streamers and use the oversized balloons (which tend to be rounder) it could work well. You would have to have something to attach it to on the table to weigh it down though.

I have see some wrapped in tulle too... just a thought.

    (Edited to correct typo.)

And I wouldn't worry about people judging you. If you like your ideas and are happy with the outcome, then that's all that should matter.

I think they would be gorgeous. My venue doesn't allow balloons though, so you might want to check on that first.

No balloons it will completely lower the formality of your event. Would you have a pinata at your wedding? It looks cheap. I think if you really wanted them you need to get a professional to pull it off in a classy way and yeah there goes the whole idea of saving on centerpieces.
