Balloon life span

Heidi, on July 29, 2017 at 2:01 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 14

We are using a ton of balloons at our reception. They will be blown up with regular air and hung from the ceiling. There will also be an arch. We are setting up the venue the night before and our reception is at 5:30. Are they going to look awful by the time the night is over? I'd like to not have to worry about blowing up 200 balloons the day of our wedding. Thanks in advance!

Can you do a test run at home? Blow up a few balloons and see what happens.

That's funny because I was just telling my fiance that. We're having our bachelor/bachelorette parties tonight so I could just test out a few.

After you are done, please deal with the balloons in an environmentally responsible way. Many states will not allow them to be released as it harms wildlife. In Hawaii these are a big No-No.

I know that. Thanks. They won't have helium in them anyway.

I would recommend trying them at home to see.

@nancy, who would release balloons into the air?? I think it's common knowledge that they pollute and harm wildlife.

@Future.Mrs.Fox: I think many people would release them. One went floating by last week from a birthday party. Some people just don't think. Mylars are the worst.

Our sea life already ingests/ gets tangled in so much garbage already... it's sad that people don't consider this when releasing them!

I used to be a vet tech... So I completely understand everyone's concern about wildlife. I know how to dispose of the balloons. Was just curious if anyone had any advice from previous experience... I'll just do a trial at home and see.

OP, I think they will hold up fine from the night before, but doing a test run will give you ease of mind.

Years ago school kids would let balloons go with a stamped postcard attached. The PC would have a few ?s about who, what and where the balloon was found. The finder would fill it out and send it back to the school. Not anymore.
