What are your thoughts on using balloons at your weddings? I have included some pics for inspiration. I'm on mobile so bear with me please.

Those two as a picture opt are ok in my book. I've seen some cute dove balloons too. but to fill the room with balloons....idk.... less elegant and more casual

I think it's cute!! I'm going to be putting white glow sticks in white, gold, and maroon balloons for the dancing part of the night since we can't do sparklers!

I don't dig it. Strikes me more as a birthday party than a wedding.

I think the first photo is cute as a prop. I'm not a fan of the centerpieces though, they remind me more of a birthday party.

I actually have already purchased the items to make these (in the picture below) and will be using these balloons as my send off since our venue does not allow open flame. I am hoping a lighted balloon release will give us similar pictures to releasing the Japanese lanterns.

I don't like balloons only because I can't stand the popping sound, it scares the shit out of me. I think the pictures you posted are cute!

Our venue actually has a rule that we can't have them (and they don't have many rules). I think the prop in the Mr & Mrs. looks cute. I'd be worried in the venue that they'd pop or deflate and then your idea is ruined.

@Nikol N. I have given that noise some thought too. I always jump. I hired my friends son who has no interest in attending the wedding to blow up 150 balloons and place the lights in them. He's a teenager and thought this would be a quick easy way to make $50. Saves me a lot of money! He will be in a back room working on them. I'm hoping between the music and him being on the other side of the building until it's time will eliminate the noise.

Not sure I like the idea as it feels more like a birthday party

I am not a huge fan but if you like them...

Please do not release them... this is so bad for the environment and animals. Just for a picture...

For a kid's birthday party, fine. Not really wedding material IMHO.

I think balloons represent a lot of youth. My husband and I had a day wedding and people blew bubbles as I walked down the aisle towards him and then as we said I do. It felt so magical!! I think balloons have the same effect of fun.. you just gotta do it right!

Please reconsider a balloon release, they are not good for the environment and contribute to wildlife death.

@ Mrs. TacoCat & @CJ I didn't think about that. Great point! Release idea nixed! We should have enough kids they can take them home and play with them. Drive their parents nuts! Smiley smile

I don't know that I'd classify the balloons as trashy, but they definitely are not classy. I don't like balloons for a wedding at all.

@windowschick that's what I thought too! I did see these but for some reason it bothered me. It's too much.

Yeah, I also only associate them with kids' birthday parties. Not a fan for weddings.

Lady do you! It's your day and if you like it go for it bubble balloons are huge hits as long as done tasteful. My wedding will have a few outside the driveway to our venue with our wedding color tassels and names. My wedding day is my birthday so i want fun. As long as you don't got overboard it's fine.
