Baltimore Honeymoon Suite?

rimeswithpurple, on August 13, 2009 at 10:32 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 5

My apologies if someone has already asked a similar question.. I tried to search but didn't find anything..

I really need some help finding a honeymoon suite in Baltimore. What I am looking for is something near the Harbor in Little Italy, and also in walking distance to the National Aquarium (which is where our wedding is). It doesn't seem like any hotels in that area offer a guaranteed early check-in, so I was thinking that I would book for Friday and Saturday nights so that I am sure I will have a room to get ready in. The rehearsal dinner is in Little Italy anyway, so it will save me a trip to Columbia and back the next day. Then I was thinking, well I might as well book Thursday night too, as that is when my bachelorette is.

-good "getting ready" area (vanity, big mirror, etc)

-whirl pool/hot tub for our wedding night Smiley smile

-early check-in (1pm, at the latest)

Any help would be appreciated, and photos would be amazing as I can't find ANY pics of honeymoon suites online...

I'm sorry but I don't think there are any hotels with Honeymoon suites but there are a lot of hotels with presidential suites and other larger ones. The Marriott Waterfront has really really nice rooms. Here is a link that has all the hotels in walking distance to the aquarium. On the right side there is a box under a picture of a fish...choose Baltimore Aquarium and a list of the hotels will pop up. I work almost across the street from the aquarium so if you have any questions I would be happy to try and answer them.

You won't find a designated "honeymoon suite" but you should be able to find other types of suites in the name-brand hotels like Hilton or Sheraton, I would start with those. You can start your research online, but nothing beats an in-person visit. We visited several hotels last weekend to find the right one for our Harford County wedding, I was surprised how much room the Hampton Inn had in their king-sized suite, there will be plenty of room for us all to get ready. Had I not visited in person I would have discounted the Hampton as an option.

I just did a quick search on the Hilton and Sheraton sites, they have suites in all different kinds and sizes! Each hotel calls their suites by different names, so you should figure out how much room you really need, and how much you want to spend, before you shop in earnest. I got an idea of the prices for my hotel through their online booking process, I just used it to research and closed out the window before actually booking. Definitely visit in person -- when you see the rooms in person you may be surprised to find a regular room might fit your needs. You probably won't be able to arrange an early check-in until you actually book and pay for a reservation, they want early check-ins to be the exception, not the rule, so they won't advertise that as an option.

Thanks ladies! The problem is we live pretty far from baltimore, and it's hard finding any free weekends these days. Which is why I was trying to see photos before making the trek out there to check them out myself. I had planned on doing that once I narrowed it down.. But I had my plans canceled saturday early evening so one of my bms and I are going to head up there and check out some hotels! I really think that it's in a hotels best interest to put some pics of their best rooms online though, it's great advertising!

Try Pier 5 hotel by McCormick and Schmick. It's really nice and probably has more of the fancy feel you want. You probably won't want to walk though. Even if you get a harbor hotel like the Sheraton or Marriott. They are not really within walking distance if you are in a wedding dress/heels. Everything downtown is walking distance but more like if you wanted to take a walking tour of the harbour.
