Super February 2020

Bam - 02.22.20 // Pro pics!

Welp, my husband and I got married at the San Diego Safari Park right before everything started to happen in the world.

Our hearts hurt for all the couples who have had to postpone/cancel their weddings due to Covid-19 and we can’t wait until you all have your big day and are able to celebrate your love with your friends and family.
From the very beginning, my husband and I went into planning our wedding knowing that this wasn’t entirely about us. We really just wanted to throw a ridiculously fun party where we can have all our families and friends in one place. Where they can get to know each other and hopefully leave with some new friends at the end of everything. So we had a semi-destination wedding with most of our guests having to travel at least a couple of hours and over half traveled from across the country. We had multiple events leading up to the big day and it was so much fun being able to spend so much time with all our guests!
1. It rained. A LOT. It forced us to move our ceremony to part of the covered portion within our venue requiring major design changes as well as a quick flip during cocktail hour.
2. Because of the rain, we were late. Thankfully, so were our guests. We provided transportation for 100+ of our guests and turns out they ran into traffic so our timelines ended up lining up.
3. A lot of details that was thoughtfully planned were missed because of my coordinator’s lack of attention to detail and because she got frazzled from the rain. I still couldn’t have done it without her and I definitely recommend having one, buuuut maybe double-check their work? Lol. No one really noticed, but it still sucked and I was pretty bummed.
4. Speaking of mistakes, my coordinator insisted on bustling my dress and made my MOH (who knew how to do it!) pass out corsages and boutonnières instead. My mind was a little pre-occupies so I didn’t notice she had bustled my dress incorrectly and my MOH didn’t see it until afterwards soooo my dress bustle in all my pics look awful. Again, not the end of the world, but still bummed considering how much I paid for the dress as well as its alterations.
5. Our officiant didn’t move out of the way quick enough to not be in our first kiss photo. So brides, make sure you hold that kiss. Think it’s safe to stop because your photographer got the perfect shot? Think again and hold your man tight for 10 more seconds. Trust me— you’ll thank me later.
At the end of the day, your wedding isn’t going to be perfect. Things will go wrong, you’ll have minor regrets, and you’ll be annoyed. However, when all is said and done, you’ll be married to the love of your life and would have just thrown the most fun party you could have ever had in your life! That I can’t complain about. Smiley smile
I’m too lazy to post complete budget breakdown, but if you’re interested, feel free to message me.

    Aww, thanks, Belle! 💕

The ring is from a local LA designer — Heidi Gibson. I may or may not have dropped some not-so-subtle hints to my husband. 😂

Yes, girl! I was scared of looking like we were just full-on making out up there with kissing so long... but in hindsight should have just gone balls to walls with it. Hahah

Love your decor, they pop and your pics are beautiful. Out of curiosity, what is your table linen made out of cotton, linen, taffeta etc

Congrats!!! Your wedding looks absolutely incredible! Smiley love

The Safari Park venue is so cool and makes for stunning pictures, and I love how you kept the theme going through touches in your tablescape and wedding cake! I'm also swooning over your color palette and floral arrangements - so gorgeous!

You would never know it was raining from those pictures!

Thank you so much! A lot of people doubted my color scheme when I first told them. Haha

The table runners on the farm tables were velvet. The round tables had black shantung table clothes and the napkins were shantung as well!
    Hope that helps! Smiley smile

    Thanks, Lynnie! 💕

Funny enough, it stopped raining about 30 minutes before our ceremony (too late to rearrange everything) so it was like a miracle! 😂
