We finally got our wedding photos back! Here are some of our favorites! There were so many to choose from!
Breakdown!
Our wedding was on February 29, 2020 at The Conference Center at Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As expected, things did go wrong on our wedding day but it was okay. The lady who I hired to do my hair and makeup got mixed up with directions and her GPS took her 45 minutes in the opposite direction from where I was getting ready. My timeline had me arriving at our venue at 2:15pm with our first look being at 2:45pm. Well, with the delay with my hair and makeup lady, I didn't get to the venue until 3:15pm - and our ceremony was set to begin at 4pm. Even though it happened, I prepared myself for something going wrong so I just texted my venue coordinator when I found out I was going to be late, took a deep breath and didn't let it bother me. Everything ended up being fine and I still had time to get dressed, relax and we had our first look - which I've already posted those photos so I did not post them again.
Our ceremony was beautiful and quick - just like we wanted. I don't like being the center of attention so we asked our officiant to make it as quick as possible, so from the time the bridal party entered to when were pronounced husband and wife, was 10 minutes. After the ceremony we walked over to take some photos. One thing I did not prepare for, and probably should have, was how windy it got. It was a little chilly (which wasn't an issue), but the wind is what really messed up some of our photos, lol. I added the ones that looked best, but no one can control the weather. I wish we would've been able to get more photos outside but it was too windy and they weren't coming out right. This is no one's fault, so we just moved on from it and partied.
Overall we had a fantastic time. We kept our wedding small with around 80-90 people attending. We loved spending time with everyone and we are still getting phone calls and text messages about how much fun everyone had. Our venue coordinator, Penny, was amazing! She kept in contact with me from the day we signed the contract in May of 2019 up until our wedding day. She met with my any time I asked and responded to phone calls and text messages within hours. Her and her team were truly the best and ensured that we did not have to worry about anything at our wedding. Our caterer was Sticky Fingers. We loved the food and their staff and catering manager were amazing! Bill (the catering manager), kept in contact with me and reached out numerous times to ensure we did not need to change anything prior to the wedding day. At the wedding, he came and set up with his staff and spoke with my husband making sure we had everything we needed. Our photographer, Whitney Carroll, is a dear friend of my sister's and we loved having her capture our day. She was with us from 12pm to 9pm and we had so much fun together! Our DJ, Stevie Mac, was fantastic! He kept our guests dancing and made the entire ceremony and reception beautiful and fun. Our bartender, Rosa, was also amazing. She and I spoke on the phone and went to lunch prior to the wedding. I wanted to make sure she had everything she needed and wouldn't not have to search for anything. Before the wedding I sent her a list of all of the alcohol we'd purchased and how much we got, as well as the additional items we purchased; like coke, sprite, water, red bull and other mixers. Finally, our officiant, Mac Darrah, was great. We love him dearly and he is an amazing friend. Our wedding was the first one he has ever done and I'm so grateful he agreed when we asked him.
