"you said if you could have your way you'd make the night time last all day, so it'd suit the mood of your soul"☾

After an unplanned 2 year engagement (long story), we finally said "I do" on May 25th, 2019, at our local Greenhouse, Jackson's Florist, in Covington, KY. (Word Cincinnati!)

To make a long story short for the aforementioned, H proposed to me 3 months after we met. We planned I dunno, 3-4 weddings, I bought 3 wedding dresses total, not including the one I wore, and dished out nearly 10k on lost deposits. Finally, I called it off. I even took off my engagement ring. I started going to therapy to take care of myself, I am also sober now. The stress from wedding planning, having a career, and being a full time mother, among having a "slight" (haha) commitment issue due to personal reasons, was too much. We began focusing on each other, I began meditating, doing yoga, tending to my plant babies, figuring myself out, learning how to cope with depression and addiction, reading, loving myself. The beginning of this year, I asked H if he still wanted to marry me, I put my ring back on, and we started planning. This time a little bit different.

I did think about having a large wedding, but it just wasn't us. I started researching elopements. H suggested the courthouse, and that was our back up plan if nothing else worked out. It was hard to find a place for a quick elopement because public spaces IMO are too risky since people could be around and disturb the sanctity of your ceremony, and most venues weren't interested in hosting a small ceremony with no reception, or just weren't our style in general.

One of my favorite places in the world is where we got married, H buys me plants from there ALL the time, he introduced them to me. It's a family owned greenhouse and nursery. I decided what the hell, and reached out to them to see if we could get married there, it was honestly super awkward to ask that, but they said yes. We did intend on paying for a venue, but in this case we didn't. I had my bouquet made there as well. Anyways, they let us come in an hour before they opened so we wouldn't have to deal with people (so sweet!)

I decided on a black dress after buying 3 white ones in the past. Funny story about the dress, it wasn't originally the one I ended up wearing. I bought a dress, and a skirt with train (pictured) for the wedding; the day of our wedding, I ripped the mesh on the bust of the dress, and had 5 minutes to pick something out of my closet to wear. I was pissed about it at the time, but I am so happy it worked out the way it did.

The overall vibe we wanted was Elvis and Priscilla. Rock n' Roll, vintage, romantic. I did my hair and makeup the morning of.

SOooo, in the days before my wedding, I wrote out lists of everything I needed to get done before our wedding on Saturday. Friday I woke up at 4am throwing up. I thought it was just a one time thing, but I was sick the ENTIRE DAY. I mean, I didn't do anything. I was supposed to get my nails done, I was supposed to pick up my flowers, I was supposed to organize the house and the spaces we were getting married, I was supposed to do a face mask, and sort of a 'spa night'. Instead I slept for 17 hours between throwing up Smiley ups

Fast forward to the wedding day, I still didn't feel 100%, I painted my nails clear, which turned out just fine, and we had a perfect day. After our wedding, we got breakfast, then on Sunday left for our honeymoon in Melbourne.
