Congratulations!! I am so happy you were able to go forward with your plans. We were supposed to get married in Tuscany (Siena) on Sept 1. We had to postpone to October of 2021. We are hopeful we can still have our wedding in Italy! Seeing this gives me a little more hope ❤️

We were very lucky to manage it!!

Fortunately, we did not have to travel far to get there (we live in Spain) but I kept worrying that something might happen to prevent us going. In the end, we went well before the wedding date just to make sure we were in the country and out of any quarantine that may be required (it wasn't in the end). We stayed at my in-laws' and my job let me work from there for a couple of weeks before the wedding day (since everyone was, and still is, working from home). Then I was worried that my family and bridesmaids wouldn't make it over from England, but they did. Everyone else, including my dad, joined by the Zoom - we actually had more people "at the wedding" than planned because we added the Zoom.

We went at a time were many restrictions were relaxed but Covid case numbers started creeping up again at the end of August so we really were just so lucky to get there and get it done in the small window of summer when things weren't so bad.

Lemons were a theme of our wedding 9in a nod to my husband's Sicilian roots) - my brother in law made limoncello for the occasion and we gave bottles away as one of our favours.

The honeymoon was lovely. Short and sweet (5 nights away) - we went just over the border from Tuscany to Umbria and stayed by Lake Trasimeno. We then used that as a base to visit nearby towns (including Assisi, which is awesome!) and stopped in Siena on our way back to Capannori (where our family live). Before we went off alone for our honeymoon, we also visited Pisa and Florence on day trips with my family while they were in Italy. It was a great trip, absolutely beautiful and I would recommend a visit to Tuscany if you ever get the chance
