Bam! Pic Heavy, but help! In your opinion, did mil mess up the pics?

I don’t think she “ruins” the pictures, but I definitely get your frustration. Overall the pictures are lovely and hopefully one day you can just laugh about it. That dress is beautiful on you and you guys look so happy. Congratulations!

OP, there’s a lot going on in the pics and I mainly noticed the beautiful room, you two in the center looking so happy, and your bridesmaid’s (or just friend’s?) bright blue dress. I had to look and find your MIL with her phone. At least she was in the back.

I wouldn't have even noticed if you didn't say anything about it. It definitely doesn't ruin the photos. In fact, I see it as sweet that she is so happy that she wants to capture everything. You look so happy and I love your dress! SF City Hall is a beautiful setting for a wedding. Congrats!

I actually had to really look at the photos to see her on her phone, so I think you’re ok. I get why you’re annoyed, but it’s not as bad as you think. If she had been looking DOWN at her phone the whole time it would be different.

Honestly that last one I could easily photoshop the phone out of her hand. I wouldn't have noticed it immediately had you not said anything but with the magic of photoshop it can be fixed.

Like everyone else has said it takes a little bit to find her in the pictures on her phone. The main focus in the pictures are the two of you! That what makes your photographer so great! They made sure the focal point is both of you.

I wouldn’t have noticed her without you pointing it out. I think it looks great and kind of reflects how excited she was about the ceremony and you two getting married which is kind of sweet lol. I completely understand your frustration (and I'm guessing she feels like an idiot now that she's seen the pictures -- especially since she didn't actually record anything, so she, in effect, just WATCHED your wedding through her phone...arghhh!). I definitely think your photographer could photoshop the phone out in a couple of the shots, and if there is picture that you truly love, he/she could do a version of that photo where they photoshop her out of the photo entirely (it helps that she's standing by herself in a fairly blank space...). However, you and H look so happy and in love, in such a beautiful space, that I agree unless you're looking for MIL's faux pas, you don't really notice it. Congrats!

Congratulations!!! These pictures are beautiful - did you dye the back of your hair the same shade of blue as your flowers? - and like some of the PPs, I had trouble finding the phone in the pictures at all! I can feel the love in every single one of the photos, and that's all anyone really needs!!

I agree with PP that I don't think I would have noticed her on her phone if you didn't mention it. I had to look for her since she was in the background. And, unfortunately, that's a fact of life today that people are going to be on their phones, even if you ask them to put them away.

But, anyway, congrats! It looks like it was a really nice day, and I really love your bouquet and the flowers in your hair. You both really do look so happy!
