Bar options

I am having a meeting with the venue this week to discuss linen and bar options. What bar option did you all choose and why? I am leaning toward a mimosa or sangria bar, or cash bar. What did you all do for your bar?

We are doing beer and wine only. Our venue only allows that, and we get to bring in our own. So for our open bar for 5 hours it will be $800 in beer and wine and $150 for our bartender.

We're basically doing a tabbed bar with unlimited beer and wine, and well drinks. Our tab is set at $2500, for right at 100 guests. About half of these guests don't drink and the other half will probably stick to the beer and wine.

We had a full open bar (not top shelf) and a champagne toast. If your wedding is in the morning, I'd do a mimosa bar but I'd skip it if it's in the afternoon or evening. I'd do a sangria bar then a full cash bar for other drinks if you want to do a sangria bar. I think the best choices though are a full open bar or open beer and wine.

We decided on beer and wine only. FHs family has some really heavy drinkers, and so FH said he didn't want our wedding to be the place that his family "gets plastered on our dime." We do want to be good hosts, so there will be a couple of beer options, and at least 2 wines (red and white), plus champagne. The other part of our reasoning for this is that our venue has several businesses in one location. They are a wedding venue, but they are also a golf course w/clubhouse, a sports bar, and a family dining restaurant. The reception room is just one part of the larger building. FH says that if anyone wants a stronger drink (hard liquor) than they can get from our bar, they can walk 10 steps next door and buy it themselves. It's a huge savings for us too, which is another great reason to skip the hard alcohol.

We wanted an open bar but all our friends and families our drinkers the tab would be over what the entire wedding cost probably, we have thought about doing a tab then making it a cash bar but idk how that would work some people would get more drinks then others and it doesnt seem fair. Unfortunately we cant do a byob we have to use the venues bar.

We're having an open bar-this was something important to us. Both our families are light to moderate drinkers so this was fairly easy to fit into our budget.

Heavy college drinkers. Doing open bar cocktail hour, then cash bar.

But also having champaign toast, red or white wine with dinner then later a Margaritta bar
