Bare fingered for ceremony?

Harleybeachbride, on April 29, 2017 at 9:36 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 28

Hi all....I've been hesitating to ask this (as I feel it may be a silly question...lol) but I'm still unsure if I'm supposed to wear my ering on my finger during ceremony and then he puts band on, or go bare fingered?? LOL I have two half eternity bands and had just one soldered to bottom of e-ring, and was thinking I'd wear and then he'd put second band on completing the set? I only got one band soldered as I'll wear it both different ways depending on the look I want to mix it up. Does this sound right, or do I go bare fingered for the ceremony? Pic of soldered and have matching seperate band that he'd put on. Thank you. :+)

I think most people leave the engagement ring on. I don't think anyone would know the difference from their seats though.

Side note... I love the set complete it looks so beautiful all together!

And I agree with Mrsctobe... I would wear it and then have him place the final band that completes the set. Most people would not even notice

I meant to give my e-ring to my sister right before the ceremony, but totally forgot. I realized it as Dad and I were walking down the aisle! So, I wore my e-ring on my left hand down the aisle, moved it to my right during the readings (before our vows), then moved it back on top of my wedding band just before I took my bouquet back to walk out. It ended up feeling really natural!

It really doesn't matter, do whatever you're most comfortable with. I plan on wearing my ering on my right hand and then switching it back to the left after the ceremony.

I placed my ering on my right hand before the ceremony. DH placed the wedding ring on and I moved the ering over. I honestly don't think it matters. It is completely what you feel comfortable doing.

    ETA can't type today.

I thought the ering goes on the right hand until after the ceremony then you switch it back to your left.

I wore mine down the aisle and slipped it to my husband during a reading.

I don't have a wedding band....so my e-ring IS my wedding band (the way it was designed...it basically just looks like the wedding band was already soldered on ). So I will be bare fingered walking down the aisle.

In fact, I haven't even worn my e-ring for a month now because I took it to be professionally cleaned so it'd be super sparkly day of. They asked for two weeks and finished in 5 days...so...it's sitting in a safe place for another week! Can't wait to wear it again.

The only way I have seen it is with the e-ring on the right hand during the ceremony.

Am I the only one whose engagement ring would never fit my right hand?? My right hand is apparently way bigger than my left! lol!

I'm going naked as my wedding ring is a wrap & no way to place that on without the engagement ring.

No Faluf, my e-ring doesn't fit on my right hand either. I'm glad someone posted this because I've been trying to figure out the most convenient way for me to do it.

Beautiful ring! Its customary to wear your e-ring on your left hand as you walk down the aisle. FH/DH will place the wedding band on your hand, then just switch them over - it takes about a second.

I'm going bare finger,my band is a guard so my ering will already be in my band.
