This question is for ladies who got married within their first their first 2 years of lapband surgery, I had surgery Jan 17th, 50lbs down now I get married 12/12/20, the dress I love so much cannot be taken in more than 2 sizes, I'm size 22 now but I'm terrified about ordering I'm scared to estimate, I'm definitely not ordering any earlier than January, March would be the latest I could wait to get measured. Please help ? How did you estimate for your measurements?

Once again I already plan to wait to get measured until next year no later than February or March 2020 my question is for those of you who went through it how much did you end up losing after you got measured, any issues? Did you go by your current measurements at the time or did you go a size or 2 smaller?

Not to be rude but I'm only looking for advice for those who have actually had weight loss surgery.

I didn't, but FSIL just had her 1 year anniversary. She has lost 100 lbs total but has steadied out and is not just focusing on toning. From everything she told me, the first year is where you see the most dramatic changes so I think if you wait until February you would be okay.

I would wait as long as you can. I had gastric sleeve surgery in September 2017 and I am getting married in December 2019. I am down 155 pounds and I have maintained that weight off for the last 15 months or so. I don't eat the best, but we are so sensitive to weight fluctuations that I would wait until at least March. I bought my dress in early March but I have been maintaining for longer than that. I would maybe suggest a dress that would be easier to let in or out- stay away from purely lace backs. I also have a dress with sleeves because I am self conscious of how my arms look now. Best of luck in dress hunting and reach out if you have any questions wedding related or not!
