I think this is cute for those who live a country life but it's not for me. A bit rustic sure but I am not sure the barns will stay a prime venue.

Yes, I agree!! A barn venue sounds like the perfect type of venue for you!! Are your chickens going to be around for the wedding or are you leaving them at home?

Considered a barn just for a different setting as we did not want a traditional banquet hall and quickly crossed it off the list. I live in Chicago so finding one reasonably close was near impossible and with it being a big trend here the ones we did find were way too overpriced. Decided to go with an industrial brewery/ warehouse instead that I am so excited for!

IN for me. It would be my absolute dream! There are none in my immediate area though. I spend nearly a week searching. The nearest is still about 50 miles away. I don't want myself of my guests to have to travel that far. I'd love it in a barn

Out. I think weddings are heading away form rustic and more toward classic with unique touches from the couple.

We originally weren't looking for a barn wedding but guess what... We're getting married in a barn. lol The venue we went with is brand new and a more modern looking barn than some we looked at which was important to us because we are not doing a rustic theme for any of our decor. We ultimately decided on our venue because it had everything we needed/wanted, was within our budget, had an outdoor ceremony site, and wasn't too formal. The alternatives in our area were either more formal than we wanted, didn't include things we wanted, were WAY out of budget, etc...

We also live in the south so barn weddings are pretty "IN" down here. I would say the majority of the venues here are barns.

Lol our of 9 out of 10 venues near me are at least rustic if not an actual barn. The majority are old time hay or tobacco barns. I don't think this trend is going anywhere at least not in rural Missouri lol

I love the barn setting. If we hadn’t picked the beach a barn was our second choice.

Same here re: my #1 requirement. The very first thing I said to my wife during wedding planning was no matter what else, no barns.

That said, our wedding did have a quasi-rustic feel, which significantly helped keep costs down with decor and styling. Hessian runners and DIY candle vases, etc... but it didn't look like it could house animals.

Barns were a big no when we first started planning, and then everyone including myself fell in love with a barn venue 😅so in but I'm trying really hard to go the exact opposite of the " Cow girl boots under my wedding dress " Thing that everyone in my area does. Im going for more of a whimsical/traditional with just a touch of modern ascetic. Think tulle fairy lights and blush pink converse

OUT OUT OUT. I think this trend was so cute but is now so overwhelmingly popular that it makes me despise it (i hate anything that's over-popular, that's just me) But for couples going for a rustic vibe, i love this! We may still go for a barn venue, so i say IN!

Ooh, I think I like the sound of that better than a barn in Chicago, Lisa! Do you have some ideas on how you're going to decorate it?

That looks like such a lovely venue, Christina!! Is your ceremony site there by the circle?

Yes, it is! They have lights out there for when it starts to get dark. My fiancé and his best man are building us a four post wedding canopy to put out there which we'll drape with fabric and loads of flowers. The background is our beautiful smoky mountains and we're getting married in the fall so the leaves should be gorgeous at that time of the year. I cannot wait! Here's a few pics of other couples there to show it better.

OK, I'm forever in love with the barn / rustic them. I'm a small town country girl. It speaks to my heart.

They’re definitely in, from what I see. I would not pay thousands of dollars for it though. Unless you grew up on a farm, or planning on living on one I don’t see the obsession.

I think barns can make beautiful wedding venues... regardless of trend.
