Bathroom basket kit or diy

Bird, on May 1, 2021 at 3:11 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 2 7
I’m thinking of purchasing already assembled bathroom baskets on etsy. 1 woman’s basket and 1 men’s basket is around $100.

Do you think if I went out and bought all of the different supplies it would be cheaper? I don’t have the energy to price out everything 🤣

DIY is going to be much cheaper. You have to add shipping charges to that too.

A lot of that can be picked up inexpensively from Costco and Target in addition to other stuff you may need in an emergency.

I did it myself and it was maybe $75 for each basket and that’s including the baskets themselves. I used coupons and Costco and Amazon and it was a lot cheaper and plus you’ll be able to use all of that stuff afterwards so it’s not like a waste of money if no one uses it. At least that’s the way I saw it

We bought the supplies for our bathroom baskets ourselves and spent maybe a third of that and had all the same stuff. It will definitely be cheaper if you DIY

I disagree with most of the comments. When you account for everything and all the supplies and time put into it, I find most things to be more effective when you just buy them rather than DIY them. Plus DIY leaves room for error, then you end up purchasing it anyway.

Ps, I also think, given the list of items you detailed, its probably gonna be cheaper to buy them. 2 for $100, and thays including the baskets they come in, is gonna be hard to beat. The creator can likely buy the supplies in bulk, so its less than retail.

It would cost you much less than $100 to put two bathroom baskets together. Big Lots and Dollar Tree have most of that stuff $1 each. Christmas Tree Shop is in the $3-$4 range but they have name brand stuff. Yard sales/thrift shops will have baskets. I'd aim for $20 each tops.

It’s easy to price out and figure out. Go on Walmart.com or Amazon.com and put everything in your cart. If you have prime then you have free shipping. That’s what I do. If I find something on Etsy that I like, I go to Amazon and put all the supplies to make it in my cart. Usually making it myself to my specific liking is cheaper than buying it from Etsy. That’s also what we did with my fiancé’s groomsmen boxes. He wanted these really cute socks to put in the boxes, but each pair of socks was $6 dollars on Etsy. We found the exact socks for a 12 pack for $12 dollars on Amazon. Definitely just price it out.

I agree that diy is less expensive. I went to dollar tree and purchased almost everything I needed and spent less than 20 dollars but it depends on how many people you have in your bridal party and if you prefer name brand items. You can always try mercari, AliExpress, wish, ebay, Amazon just to make a few if bulk buying isn’t your thing such as Costco.
