Beach brides—hair up?

Christine, on October 19, 2022 at 10:09 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 12
Hi everyone! I am getting married on the beach in florida next year and was going to do a half up, half down hairstyle. We did our engagement photos near water yesterday and my hair was blowing all over the place and was frustrating to deal with. My photographer suggested an updo for the wedding day so it doesn’t do that during the ceremony and photos outside. Has anyone done a half up half down hairstyle beach side? Did you regret it? I am trying to see if I should change it to an updo to avoid any annoyance. Thank you In advance Smiley smile

I was VERY relieved to have an up do!! I had enough trouble trying to control my veil which drove me crazy blowing around with the breeze

I do have a cathedral style veil too lol, it has some beading around the edge so I’m hoping that helps add some

I'd opt for an updo. If your hair is anything like mine, the added humidity from being on the beach would ruin any curls that you leave down anyways, so you might as well put it up so your hair stays nicer and isn't blowing around in your face.

I agree with Paige aside from the wind the FL humidity would ruin any half down style on my hair, Best of luck

I’m getting married on the beach in Florida in June 2023. I always wear my hair down, and have decided I’m going to leave it that way. My first marriage was in 2004, and I did my hair all up and I regretted it. Looking at the pictures later, it didn’t seem like me. I have long hair, so I realize my hair being all over the place might be a problem. My advice is to do what you feel happy about!

OMG LOLOL Okay. so now I gotta ask the rest ....... where is your reception, who is your photographer, and are you doing DJ or band?

We are at The Beach House Waterfront Restaurant for both ceremony (on the beach behind the restaurant) and reception (Sunset Deck of the restaurant) Using Photography by Larson, and our DJ is Fitz Otis.

    Only 196 more days!

We’re doing the reception on the beach right next to the wedding under a tent. Sarasota Beach Weddings is doing the ceremony decor, officiant, and photography. We’re using Black Tie DJ’s. You’re closer to your date, we’re 231 days away!

Trust me, the time is flying by, and with the upcoming holidays 2023 will be here before you know it! And how funny, I actually looked at Sarasota Beach Weddings in the early planning stages. Smiley smile

We met them on the beach at our wedding spot. They’re an amazing married couple. They answered all our questions we’re willing to specialize things at no extra cost, and really put us at ease. Since we were 3 hours away, she actually contacted the county for me to find out what part of the beach was still available, that we’d need turtle nesting lights, etc. We couldn’t be more happy and grateful!
