Beach Wedding Aisle Options-- Help!

Amanda, on August 22, 2018 at 8:14 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 13

Hi everyone! We're getting married on the beach at sunset, and were originally planning to lay wood for the aisle to walk on. However, we realized this could be quite the hassle to setup on the day and a bit of a waste of money. We were hoping for a firmer surface for the aisle that we can lay on the sand...any ideas? Welcome any advice! Thank you!!

Isn't one of the reasons to get married at the beach the sand? Just walk on the sand. Anything you put on top of the sand will shift and could be a trip hazard.

Does where you’re getting married even allow this? We have friends who have gotten married at the beach and part of their permits have included rules about not creating a floor or walkway on the sand.

We live in Florida, and part of the reason was honestly that it was cost effective. My mom came cross country to visit this weekend and hated the sand, so I'm trying to alleviate some of the objections.

They do, as long as it's placed and picked up within the ceremony time Smiley smile

I am getting married on the beach also! Although we look forward to sand, maybe a clear plastic runner? Perhaps an indoor/outdoor rug? Good luck..

What about...oh what are they called? Like a beach mat but it rolls open and is made of a lightweight wood like material. I can picture them but can’t think of the name! Anyway, they’d be easy to roll out and easy to roll up when you’re done.

Hi Amanda! A beach wedding sounds amazing, what beach are you getting married at? When I was at the beach last year, I saw a wedding where they had brought in a clear aisle for the ceremony that looked like it worked well! You could also look into aisle runners on Amazon and see what kinds of materials they have available. I found this material, but not sure if it's what you are looking for!

I worked as a beach wedding planner for a lot of years. My biggest recommendation is to make sure whatever you use has some weight to it. You can buy mini magnets and pop then along the object to keep it weighted down.

We've done just about everything, from wood to rose petals. The wind is the toughest factor. We had folks do something like this

You can buy bamboo Matt that rolls out for the aisle. However. Unless there’s a wood platform on the beach, people will be walking in the sand. I wouldn’t be happy about that as a guest.

Maybe long bamboo mats with shells holding them down the sides.

    This.

I would love the feel of sand on my feet! I think anything you put down could be a problem.
