Beach wedding in Florida advice needed

Cassie, on April 3, 2018 at 1:23 PM Posted in Florida Planning 0 12
Hey guys! Just said YES to the man of my dreams this weekend... Now the difficult part, planning the wedding. I have a ton of questions but ill start with something simple. We are looking to have our wedding on a beautiful beach with clear water in Florida. We are currently looking at St. Pete's but any other recommendation would be great! We would have between 75 to 100 people (high balling it). We are looking at next spring sometime between March to beginning of May.

Questions:

Would our time frame be ideal for beautiful weather? I don't want it to be cold.

Any good wedding venue recommendations?

Would like to stay under $10k (we know that will be difficult). We will cut down the list if needed.

Is the $10 thousand just for the venue? If so, what must it include?

Check the vendor tab on WW for vendors that might work for your plans.

I’d cut the list to at least 50 or less.
is this a destination wedding? If you’re asking guests to travel you need to host them really well.

I looked at 3 venues in Tampa and St. Pete and I will say ALL were well over $10K based off 75 guests. I really don't have any recommendations but basically all of the hotels that have reception ballrooms and offer beach ceremonies are going to be well over $10k for the basic packages (catering, venue, ceremony, centerpieces) Your options would be to cut the guest list or coordinate the reception somewhere cheaper like a civic center or garden. March-April would be a good time for a beach wedding, the sunset is around 6:30PM so would make for good photos.

$10k would be total. Our guest list is about 75 and some prob won't come cause its a destination wedding but wanna be on the safe side. Outside ceremony with basic chairs and an arch. Either outside beach reception area or inside. Tables, chairs, linens, basic centerpiece. Buffet style food. Already have a photographer. I've looked at a bunch of vendors its just so hard to choose cause we live in the Carolinas so we know nothing about Florida!

Yea, the couple venues ive priced have been between $10-14k. Budget is something we are still talking about. If you take out kids we would be under 50 people but we have a ton of kids lol. Thank you for the info about the date and time of sunset that was my biggest concern!

Its going to be about 50 people plus the kids I'm guessing. Every year around that time our family and friends take a cruise so this will replace that.

Check out Dunedin, FL and honeymoon island! I think you can get married there, the scenery is beautiful! It's on the gulf coast and close to clearwater and st. pete beach. As far as the weather, it's been a "cold" winter for us down here. There were days in March that were in the 40's, 60's, 80's, basically all over the place. For example, my wedding is in January here in northern Florida and we are planning on moving everything indoors based on how cold it was this past January. The closer you get to May, the hotter it is. That being said, be careful planning an outdoor wedding in the summer. Florida is hot and humid, even in the spring. Be prepared to plan accordingly. For 10K during a popular wedding time and in a popular destination you're sure to spend over your budget, I'd lower the guest list and treat the few guests to a wonderful experience!

Awesome thank you!!! I might nix the outdoors reception and just do the outdoors ceremony. Didn't think about the humidity!

Thei weather that time of year is pretty warm in March in May it starts the summer season and it’s gets really hot from May-September. Their are beautiful beaches in the Tampa and Sarasota areas with clear persistence water. Siesta Key is amazing and has white powder sand and crystal clear water it’s amazing.

I chose the Sirata Resort for my June wedding. I found it the most affordable for all you get.
