Beach Wedding in the Fall- Sept or Nov?!

Laura, on February 17, 2021 at 10:22 AM Posted in Florida Planning 1 7
We’re getting married on Clearwater beach. We finally found our wedding venue, however they only have Sept 25th or Nov. 12th available. I’ve thought about the pros and cons to both. The gulf is still warm in September and great for swimming, but the weather is still hot and humid. We also have to worry about the peak of hurricane season. November is much cooler and comfortable, but the gulf is pretty cold (although some people still swim in it). November is daylight savings time so it will get dark earlier. Which date is most ideal? Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on choosing Clearwater Beach. I got married there in 2019 and it’s beautiful. Personally I would choose September since it’s still so nice out and it stays light longer. Which venue did you choose?

We’ve decided to go with the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort!

Hi Laura! Will this be a destination wedding? I'd weigh how important swimming temps are against potential September humidity!

Although if you're on the water it might not feel that bad in Sept!

Oh my gosh, that’s where we got married. You will NOT be disappointed! They were amazing. The food was excellent, staff was great and everyone was very helpful. We had a smaller wedding so we got married on the beach and then had our wedding on the 8th floor terrace. The only thing I would say if you are getting married on the beach is that it will not be private. If you have any questions or want to connect, let me know. 😊

Wow! I am so relieved to hear that! We looked at a few other resorts nearby (Wyndham, opal sands, Sandpearl) but the Hyatt was definitely our favorite. Thank you for the reassurance! I feel really happy with our decision! Smiley smile

We actually live locally! We have a lot of family coming in from up north, so I know they’ll be happy to escape the cold weather! We’ve decided to go with September and have the ceremony in the evening. Hoping the gulf breeze will help cool us off too! Thanks for your input!! Smiley smile

We looked at all of those as well and decided the Hyatt was the best option for us. We’ve since been back and enjoyed a 5 day weekend and can’t wait to go back.
