Beach wedding Michigan

Jamie, on February 18, 2020 at 2:10 PM Posted in Michigan Planning 0 3
I’m doing a beach ceremony wedding. We already have our reception venue set. So doing it at a hotel or venue that offers all of it is out of the question as we have everything ready to go reception wise and ceremony y wise ( decorations, arbor, chairs, officiant and photographer) we are doing a public beach wedding ( yes I know risky, and I have permission and all of the permits etc filled out now) my question is to people in Michigan area, especially near Charlevoix Petoskey Boyne city have any of you done a public beach/park wedding where did you do it ? There are so many beautiful beaches to choose from? Also those not in that area what was your experience overall with a public beach wedding at a park?

I LOVE that party of Michigan!!!

I have not been to a beach wedding in Michigan, but I have in Florida, and it was okay! People stopped in the water to watch, people were conscientious and weren't loud or annoying, and people on the beach cheered when the bride and groom kissed. It was cute.

Have you looked at Glen Arbor? You can always look into the Homestead, LeBear Resort, or even the Sleeping Bear Dunes. The Dunes would be a hike, but worth it! Or have you looked at Leland? They might have beach wedding spots! Sorry if this was not helpful.

This was my favorite post of the day! Thanks for being from Michigan Smiley smile

It’s been a few years since I’ve lived in Petoskey so I’m not sure of where you can do a ceremony on the beach, but I second sleeping bear dunes. It’s a hike but you can get the permits to have a ceremony there and I think it’s the coolest idea! I wish I would have thought about that while planning out ceremony.
