Beauty and the beast theme on a budget

Kimberly, on March 25, 2018 at 11:18 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 32

I always dreamed of a Disney wedding, but like many of us, I can't afford one. Has anyone done a beauty and the beast theme wedding? If so, any tips or pictures to help me out. I would greatly appreciate it.

We are doing Alice in Wonderland on a budget. Do a lot of DIY, the time is killer but it will save you a lot of money.

My best friend just did!! We all wore navy blue and carried a single rose. She made all the signs herself that were beauty and the beast themed and then she danced to beauty and the beast for their first dance.

Pinterest is your friend. Pin all the ideas you love then edit, edit edit.

For every great and beautiful idea you see, there is a less expensive alternative.

Don't do things too literally. That's where you can fall into the trap of having a Disney wedding, rather than a fairytale wedding.

Even your dress has many options at all price points.

DIY isn't always cheaper though. For our wedding, to DIY certain items, it would have cost a lot more than hiring a professional.

Even the stuff I am doing DIY isn't cheap by any means. I'm not sure i've even saved money by DIY some things. I know with supplies costs i've spent more than I should have..

Beauty and the Beast theme is probably one of the top themes mentioned lately on here. As Muriel mentioned, don't over do it. Over doing a "theme" can make it look not as elegant, wedding. Again, as she mentioned don't fall into the trap of doing a theme, and just letting it take over. Weddings don't need themes. It's not really a themed event.

As PP stated, pinterest is good to get ideas. I got some ideas there for our wedding, and then changed them until they were what we wanted.

Thank you, maybe I should of wrote inspired instead of theme. Yeah, I am not looking to over do it. More like subtle hints. I am still deciding, I am doing a destination wedding and have to see the venue.

I think your colors sound perfect! I’ve seen a lot of cute centerpieces with books, candelabras, red roses, tea cups, etc...

Also, this cake topper and sign are adorable

Check out Pinterest for DIY glowing rise center pieces. Out theme is magic because we couldn’t decide between Disney and Harry Potter lol. I’m going on get a gold candelabra and do an image transfer of Lumier’s fave on the wax. I have load of other ideas. I’d be happy to brain storm with you.

    This is gorgeous.

I also have seen where the use a bundle of dollar tree roses, fishing line, and a simple clear vase. A bead of hot glue goes on the rose and fishing line. Then you hot glue the fishing line to the bottom of the vase. Flip upside down and you have a beautiful "enchanted" rose.

Also just in operating lots of antique styled items in your decor will add to you theme. If it's going to be a smaller wedding you could even look for libraries or venues with large study areas. That would be beautiful.

And your invites could say. "Be our guest"

Beauty and Beast is my absolutely favorite Disney movie. Beauty and the Beast is incredibly special to FH and I for a few reasons. However, Our wedding isn't themed with it. The barrage of Beauty and the Beast themed posts are increasing I think. LOL.

A wedding doesn't need a theme. It doesn't need to scream Disney, Little Mermaid, or Beauty and the Beast. Just small accents are fine. It doesn't need to be completely over the top Disney/Beauty and the Beast.

I am not having a themed wedding but when I sent my bridesmaid trial picture she said it reminded her of beauty and the beast.

I had done a few table trials and sent her pictures. You could do something similar to this. It make a big impact easily. It is all DIY.

I used manzanita tress but you can always get branches in your back yard if you have somewhere close. Tip: make sure they are tall enough they do not block any view. Paint them with thick gold paint. Use quick cement and put them in pots (couple bucks from ikea). Then order red roses (like from the movie) in bulk for cheap and attach. These pics do not have the flowers that I am going to use. I got about 50 flowers for 10 bucks that I am waiting to come in. Table clothes - bought used from another bride. Chargers- used coupons and got them from BBB. Candle holders used from another bride. On the low tables we are setting the branch sideways for a different look. Seriously, buying from websites and DIY saved me a ton of money to get the look that I wanted. I also am anal and did not want to leave it in the hands of a florist.

*Ignore the vases of red flowers. Those do not go on the table!

I helped my friend plan her beauty and the beast wedding on a budget. Lots of DIY. She had mismatched centerpieces. We scoured old stores for blue books to use as centerpieces and placed an old clock on top. We also made some candelabras out of wine bottles. Ordered the candle attachments and spray painted them. The other centerpieces were a circle mirror with a glass over a single rose. The whole fishing line single rose and globe got intense and expensive. And the tea cups got a little much. We were worried people knock them over or it would be too much clutter. She didn't use a lot of flowers. Mostly roses, which you can grab wholesale. The girls wore yellow, carried red roses. Guys wore navy suits.

I'm not sure how old you are but I caution against going theme heavy, especially a Disney theme. You want your wedding to be classy and elegant and Disney does not convey that. It seems immature and in years to come, as you mature and your tastes develop and blossom you may be embarrassed you went with a child's movie theme. And what are you saying.... your husband is a beast?

Whats wrong with a Beauty and the Beast inspired wedding? You can easily make it classy & elegant for adults without becoming a children's party. Some nice pieces and a great color scheme will go a long way. We dont plan on having character cups, plates, and balloons. No need to take the idea so literally.....oh...and FYI....Im not a beast Smiley winking

I am doing beauty and the beast. Got my dress which i will be adding a petticoat to make it more of a ballgown and our colors will be black gold and red. Black linens, Candelabras as centerpieces and Tons of roses everywhere but will not be doing the rose in the dome as in the movie. We will also be trying to fing a caterer to do food that we ate while in paris. (Please ignore my bra)
