Beauty Regimen

Hi ladies! I need some skin care recommendations. I’ve been researching some stuff but it is all very confusing. I have relatively good skin but I have some pigmentation issues from when I used to have acne scarring as well as dry skin. So I need something for cleansing when I have small breakouts, a moisturizer and anything else you can think of. I’m a little under a year out so I would like to start soon so I can make it a habit. Thank you!

A good simple routine for everyone is a vitamin c serum in the morning, followed by moisturizer and sunscreen. At night cleanse and moisturize, and also exfoliate a couple times a week. If you want to add in a retinol at night that’s something that also benefits most people’s skin.

Oh I could tell you so much!

I have some of the same issues and I will tell you my daily skincare routine.
    Morning-
Cleanse with vitamin C Cleanser (these are very hydrating, but be careful because vitamin C can be pretty strong)
    Hydrating toner
    Use a vitamin C serum
I use a light acne serum on top of this just to help keep me clear
Vitamin C Moisturizer and Eye Cream
    Night time-
    Cleanse with vitamin C cleanser
    Hydrating toner
    Retinol serum
A nice evening eye cream (many have retinol in them but I get milia with too much retinol)
    Once a week-
AHA mask (great for everything) after removing, I top it with a hydrating sleep mask
Once a month- skinpen or PCA peel with dermaplaning.
Your skin will glow! All this stuff takes time though so do not get discouraged. Product can also be pricey. Honestly, I'd go to massage envy and get one of their facials. This way someone can help guide you a little. Places like sephora can be absolutely overwhelming if you dont know what you are looking at. They have two lines I would recommend. Obaji and Jan Marini. Marini is amazing! I would be more than willing to show you my products if you wish. I'm a junkie so I have everything! Lol

I would develop a good day to day skincare routine, consistency is key. I think seeing a good dermatologist or great reviewed esthetician in your area can be helpful as well. I personally have dry skin with a lot of acne congestion, and acne scarring/pitting.

    This is my skincare routine:

Mornings - Salicylic Acid Cleanser, Neutrogena Foaming Cleanser (with small silicone brush), Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner, Vitamin C Serum, Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Face Lotion with SPF & Eye Cream, Facial Rosewater Spray.

Evenings - Neutrogena Foaming Cleanser, Retinol Serum, Thicker Lotion.

Weekly - I use a pore refining pumpkin mask (instead of the SA cleanser) two times a week. Once a month, I use hydrating masks. If I'm having bad breakouts, I have an SA medication I'll put on, and a few other masks I think help my skin with breakouts. I sleep on a silk pillowcase, and disinfect my phone weekly. I drink at least 5 bottles of water a day, and I take biotin w/ collagen, b6, beta-carotene, krill oil & a prenatal daily (some more than others help with skin/care/nails).

I think a safe bet is to get a gentle cleanser, gentle toner, gentle moisturizer. Then you can add/adjust based on your skin if you have dry, oily, combination, acne-prone, etc. I found it helpful to get monthly facial treatments leading up to our wedding as well. I tried a few facials, microdermabrasion, microneedling, and dermaplanning. I found microneedling to be SUPER beneficial for scarring, pitting, uneven skin tone, etc.
