Being a student and wedding planning

Alexandra, on September 11, 2019 at 11:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
So I’m in nursing school and I’m planning a wedding! I have been so stressed about doing both- I am set to graduate this year, and my wedding is pretty much a year away (9/17/20). Any advice on brides that have been through the same?

Take it Day by day and learn how to juggle! I struggle so much with what I have begun to call my wedding squirrel moments...im doing my masters for teaching, started teaching a new grade level this year, and I have been wedding planning the last year. I would say also learn when to give yourself a break. Treat yourself after a test, or a planning milestone. Ask your fh for help! He will for sure be your rock through it all. My fh handles my mental breakdowns and frustrations. He helps me cope and is my rock. Last but not least do not try to do it all at once! You have plenty of time to stretch things out. Take care of the most important wedding things and go from there. Hope this helps! 😀

I worked multiple jobs, was doing full time unpaid fieldwork, and planned my wedding while doing OT school. It’s totally possible. I would recommend merging your wedding planning and school calendars so it’s easier to remember what needs to be done and when. We had a huge calendar for the last size months leading up to the wedding.

I am also in nursing school and planning a wedding! Congratulations!! I got engaged in December of last year, getting married in November of this year, and graduate in May of next year... it has been quite a whirlwind! Definitely use those time management skills that I know you have, get some type of wall calendar so you can see all of your plans/events at once.

Congratulations again, and best of luck to you!!

I remember my days in nursing school, and not necessarily fondly. Thank God I never have to go back! I suggest you plan ahead of when you’re going to do wedding planning, similar to how you would plan ahead to study. This will help you keep up with the plans but also on track with your studies. Try not to get sucked into Pinterest or searching for wedding things while studying, because it’ll be like a black hole and next thing you know it’ll be hours later. We’ve all done that! If you want to take breaks from studying to look at things, just make sure to set a time of when you’re going to get back to the books. The best thing I did when I was in school is to stay on top of studying and the class work. Know when you’re going to get work done and when you’re taking time off. If you know there’s going to be downtime to do something enjoyable, it makes doing the work so much less tedious. You can totally graduate nursing school, pass the NCLEX and plan a wedding at the same time. Just be organized about it and it will all fall into place. Good luck and congrats!

Yes! Super stressful! Remember to self-care and to take a break from the wedding planning and school work every once in a while. Hire a wedding planner if you can because that will help take so much responsibility off.

Hi! I’m also in my last year of nursing school planning a wedding! We are getting married in spring of 2021 though, so I have adequate time to plan and save Smiley smile I’ve done a lot of planning already though so I don’t have to do a lot this year!

I'm going to school full time and working full time all while planning a wedding so I feel your pain! Just take it day by day and learn to take a break if you feel overwhelmed. Good for you though! I respect the hustle lol
