Belize or Thailand honeymoon?

I haven't been to Thailand personally, but my family has, and my brother lived there for a year. Beautiful country, but the government has been unstable at times (might want to check prior). That said, Thailand is on my list of countries I'd like to visit sometime! ☺

I have been to Belize, and it is an amazing country with lots to offer. It'd likely be much more affordable simply because cost to travel would be less (closer vicinity). If your fiancee is nervous about traveling abroad, this could bee an excellent "starter" country as it's not as far and English is the primary language. It us home of the second largest reef in the world and is known to be a snorkeling/scuba destination.

I honestly don't think you could go wrong either way!

Additionally, I must say, these are two VERY different options, and difficult to compare....

I spent a few days in Thailand in 2016 and would definitely go back when I can stay longer, but if you are going from the US expect to be SUPER jet lagged, for a week or more. So if you only have a week, I would stay within fewer time zones to minimize both travel time and jet lag time. (Actually that's exactly how H and I ended up in Iceland for our honeymoon, by deciding max x time zones and max y hours flight and narrowing down the list.) So I would lean toward Belize or anything else on this side of the globe.
