Im so tired of my belly! It just wont go away and it is in every wedding dress that I try on. I dont want to do lipo, but has anyone tried cool sculpting ir lipo captivation (i think that's what its called)? I work out 4x/week, 2 hours/day and the bottom bulge wont budge. If you have tried either,...

If you have to call something "it works," "It" probably doesn't. there's no secret, just eat clean and healthy, track your calories if needed, and exercise so you are strong and healthy, because muscle looks better than flappy saran-wrapped skin, and because IT'S GOOD FOR YOU. The suggestions I see telling people to not exercise their core for fear of being stronger are terrifying (especially from someone with 'finess' in her usename...?). You won't 'bulk' up unless you are genetically predisposed to putting on lots of muscle (most women aren't) AND you are taking in massive protein levels.

Beyond that, throw on some spanx and call it a day.

Philethia- for fucks sake- stop it.

none of those things actually work.

Do the work and watch what you eat- there are no quick fixes. This is within everyone's grasp of 'achievablity' depending on how hard you're willing to work for it.

The long and short of it is most people aren't. none of the cool sculpting- itworks- syran wrap- hemmroid cream.

    NONE OF IT WORKS.

So suck it up- get out your food scale- eat your protein and veggies and and get to work in the gym. if you buckle down- you can do it. Quick fixes are just that.

    Quick fixes.

For the rest of you suggesting such rubbish- stop it. You'll be back asking the same question when your quick fix wears off - you're still unhappy with your body AND you're hundreds of dollars poorer.

Has anyone tried 310?? I was thinking about doing it. You can replace 2 meals a day with it. I have trouble doing a lot of exercise and had to stop seeing my personal trainer because of all of the nerve damage in my neck, back, arms.. it's just too much and too painful to do and it was aggravating it. Went to the dr and found out I now have bulging disks in my back caused from the exercise. Once I feel better I'm just going to do cardio at home but as far as diet I was thinking about 310.

Edit: Granted I am one of those who understand that a meal replacement isn't a long term fix BUT I was only wondering if anyone else uses it and likes it. My doctor doesn't want me eating any meats unless it's the size of a quarter.. literally a fucking quarter. And vegetables only. A tiny bit of fruit. It's ridiculous. But there's reasons why so that's why I was asking about a that shake specifically because until I can use a "normal" diet, I'd like to try a shake.

Ab buldge can also be from weak lower ab muscles. You want to make sure you target those in your ab workouts so that you have a natural muscular corset to pull you in. It's hard to overtrain abs. I get the best results when I train them about five times a week just using my body weight. Don't forget your lower back muscles. If they are weak it makes that inner muscular corset less effective. Laying off the salt really helps me with bloat, which shows up in my lower abs more than anywhere.

Ugh, it's really hard reading this thread because some people are just giving uneducated and bad advice. LeahH is right on point. Listen to her. Her advice is based off science and long-lasting health rather than quick fixes like wraps and replacing meals. You need to be consuming lean protein. She's 100% correct too that there's no such thing as spot-reducing and doing abs will only bulk the area. Think about it- if I do crunches, those muscles will grow. It won't reduce the fat in that area, the fat will stay, then I'm adding growth to the area in the form of muscle.

Lindsey- can you explain what fat protein is? Because if there is lean protein- then obviously there must be fat protein?

Lean protein isn't a thing, haha. There is protein, fat, carb. I think that's what Jo is getting at. And you can getting really technical with micro shit beyond that but it's not necessary unless you're a body builder or competitive lifter, most likely.

If I see one more "it works" post I'm going to fucking suffocate myself with saran wrap. That shit is marketing garbage and needs to go away. Forever.

@Jo- I would consider a lean protein to be something that's not high in fat. So like for example, chicken versus bacon. Bacon has protein, but if you're trying to watch your fat intake, chicken would be the better option. Correct me if I'm wrong!

@leah, thank you I'll check it out! My dr wants me to do Mediterranean for a while and I literally just can't Smiley sad

I've done other meal replacement shakes when I had a hole in my stomach that was healing but it was different. I like them.. but it was to keep weight not loose it. But thanks for your input on them. I was just hoping to find one meal a day I could eat and enjoy lol.

@LeahH- correct. that's exactly what it is- kind of like toning isn't a thing.

There is no such thing as "lean protein"

    It's just protein.

    Or Fat.

    Or Carbs.

    Macro's people. Macros.

@Chrissy- you are correct- most people need to have a general idea about their macros- and honestly I wish I had learned more about that when I was younger- because the way it's presented is "OMG TO MANY CALORIES" rather than- calories and macros are a tool- and it'll help you make better decisions. If calories/macros were taught like managing money- our kids wouldn't have the same issues I firmly believe.

Anyway- Yeah- I'm sick of syran wrap being touted as some weight loss method. Go wrap yourself in a garbage bag and run around the parking lot spitting as you run- you'll lost 10 pounds in water weight and be miserable.

Downside- you're not competing in a wrestling/boxing match- so it means LITERALLY NOTHING!

    ugh.

Savanah- I'd recommend seeing a dietician- an actual licensed dietician. Doctors are NOTORIOUSLY bad at keeping up with diet/food health issues outside of diseases. They often give the shittiest advice that's from the 80's.

@JoRocka, would you agree that there are good and bad carbs? They're all carbs, but some are worse than others! My cousin is a personal trainer and he'd suggest chicken over red meat because he says the chicken is leaner in fat.

Thanks jo rocka & leah! I agree with you there! I also think his nationality has a lot to do with what he's trying to get me to eat. He's Mediterranean himself and doesn't eat meat. I'll look into it, thanks for your advice ladies!!

No. there are not good carbs or bad carbs.

they don't have some sort of moral connotation to them. They are just carbs.

The way your body processes them is slightly different- but it doesn't make one inheriently more bad than the other.

This- this is the fucking problem.

We associate all these random and meaninless adjuectives to our food. "clean food" "healthy" "pure" "good"

    it's all rubbish.

There is no such thing as good food or bad food.

Unless it's physically rotten- or contaminated and will make you sick- otherwise- it's just FOOD.

That does not mean you can eat whatever you want- view your food like money- your budget.

You can spend your budget on fancy things- like lip stick and shoes and diamonds- and nails and blow outs and starbuck trips- or you can pay your bills and put gas in your tank and feed your family.

none of those "fun" things are intrinsically BAD- they just cost a lot and don't actually help you live your life.

Chicken, veggies, "healthy/clean" food- fall into the "pay your bills- put gas in your car' type spending.

cake- ice cream- desserts- snacks- "fun" food- that is processed and "unhealthy"- are your fancy nails- your trips to the movies- lipsticks- sephora splurgers.

They aren't BAD- but they waste your money.

So- the long and short of it is- invest in your food in a way that helps your life- splurge occasionally- but concentrate your food the way you do your money- more bang for your buck.

But the arbitrary random labels is what gets us into a fucking mess in the first place.
