Best and worst bridesmaid gifts

Mrs!, on May 6, 2019 at 6:14 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11
What are your favorite and most hated bridesmaid gifts you have ever received? I am getting my girls candy, cute pens (they don’t say BM/MOH on them), metal bracelets in the shape of a knot with their initial only, and a lip gloss. I also bought them shirts that say BM/MOH but not giving it to them yet. I was going to wait to give those to them another day since one shirt probably won’t be in on time. Smiley sad when could I give them the shirts? Should I just do that separately when I hangout with each of them separately? Also, I’m planning on getting them more gifts right before the wedding. What are some good gifts for that? And also for my jr bridesmaid.

Are you doing groomsman gifts also? My fiancé doesn’t love the idea but I feel guilty about giving my bridesmaids gifts but not the men.

We’re doing champagne colored pashminas (can also be blanket scarves) with small bottles of wine and the groomsmen are getting matching socks with a small bottle of liquor.

I think your gifts are lovely 😊

Yes we are! I think we will be doing bottle openers, chocolate, beer, etc to ask them to be his groomsmen. Haven’t completely decided that yet but as soon as I finish up my BM’s we will be on it haha! Thank you! Also, are u supposed to give something extra to the MOH/Best man?

Oh gosh that’s tough. I think people normally do? but I didn’t pick a MOH/BM they’re all just bridesmaids/groomsman (didn’t want to choose siblings over best friends or vice versa)

I am putting a box of different items for them. It will include a box of mini perfumes, a hand fan, a bottle of Philosophy whipped body Lotion and slippers (exactly the ones shown in the pictures). I may add one or two more items. I am going to put them in a gift box similar to the one pictured.

Okay I wasn’t going to add anything extra. The only thing I did was decorate both of my MOH’s boxes a little bit more. I have 2 MOH and 2 BMs.

Your box looks so delightful! That’s something I would enjoy opening. Ugh, I wish I could afford more for my BM’s. I bought them shirts that costed $17 each. But everything else in the box probably totaled to $15 each. A pen, some candy, a lipgloss, and a bracelet (which they can use after the wedding too because it just has their initials on it!)

Thank you! I am on a budget so I made sure to be on the look for good gifts at a good price. I have only 4 bridesmaids which helps with helping keep the cost down.

•Slippers - $14 each through Cinderollies on Etsy

•Mini Perfumes - $10 each box @ Macys. I bought them during Christmas.

    • Hand Fans - $2. 97 each @ Paper Lanter Store online

    • Philosophy lotion - set of 6 from QVC (about $14 each). Am gifting 4 and keeping 2 for me. Plus they let you pay in in interest free installments.
▪︎ An alternate option is a candle. Walmart has Yankee Candles for $5.99.

    • The gift box - I will be getting at Dollar Tree for $1 each.

You did score some deals! I almost did the candle thing but 1 girl never uses them, 1 is afraid to, and the other isn’t allowed to (flower girl, dad’s rule because he hates fragrance LOL). So I decided to opt out of the candle. I might buy one for one of my other BM’s tho later because she LOVES candles, and maybe get them each a unique gift tailored to what they like, closer to the wedding date.

I've only been a bridesmaid twice. The first time, I got a sparkly watch and the second time, a silk floral robe. I gave the robe away almost immediately. I love robes, but not if they aren't soft & cotton. I would be happy with candy & pens. The bracelet would be sweet for the wedding but I don't wear jewelry so it would probably sit in a box for the rest of my life, and I don't wear lipgloss. It sounds like these are their proposal gifts though, not their day of gifts? So I think this is a really sweet idea! You could give the shirts at your bachelorette or bridal shower? Rehearsal dinner? I "proposed" to the girls with jewelry boxes, nail polish, liquor shooters, and hair ties. At the bachelorette, I gave them wine tumblers & hangover kits. For the day of, they are getting totes, tumblers, hangers, getting ready outfit (they picked among 3), a handwritten letter from me & one personal item specific to them.

Yes these are proposal gifts! I know all my girls would like the lipgloss and esp the bracelets (they look similar to Alex and ani which they love!) I’m crossing my fingers the shirts come in time! LOL! But ya maybe at the shower or Bach party I can give them the shirts Smiley smile oh the hangover kits, hangers and personal items sound like a good idea for the day before/day of!
