I think it might depend on what you like/are looking for. We love Disney, so we both have Disney Visa cards. My parents fly a lot so they have southwest cards (this one has a fee). I’m sure there are just generic cards that give just cash back too.

We got an American Airlines card. We put everything on it and then paid it off each month. We earned a ton of airline miles to use for our honeymoon.

Compared to other cards do you think you got the most rewards with this one?

We don't really have any other credit cards, so I am not sure.

But, we knew we wanted an airline rewards card when we decided to get one. Based on what we saw, American gave good rewards. Plus, American Airline is a major airline, so we knew we could use our miles to fly pretty much anywhere in the world.

If you can get approved for an American Express I highly recommend that for frequent travelers. They have a ton of hotels they are partnered with (all 4-5 star) that offer awesome perks. When you book one of their hotels they give you a room upgrade, early check in late checkout, $100 voucher to the hotel and free breakfast for 2 everyday. There is an annual fee for the card but if you enjoy nice hotels and amenities it’s totally worth it.

We used the Capital One venture card. Earned tons of miles over the course of our long engagement and their booking site is super easy to navigate.

Chase sapphire preferred had a great introductory offer for 100k points recently. Not sure if it’s still running now but you can check out the points guy for current offers on other travel cards

We have the American Express platinum and love it, especially for travel. Great perks and rewards. You’d also have access to booking your travel through them and getting additional perks. They also have a 24/7 travel concierge line you can call in case of emergencies.

CSP would be a good option -- and you still may be able to get the 100K bonus in a brick-and-mortar branch (it's no longer available online).

That said, you should only do this if you don't plan to carry a balance. There's almost no scenario where you will outrun the APR with these premium cards. If you're spending more than you can pay for (which isn't advisable), look for a 0% APR card if you have strong credit. If your credit isn't great, a personal loan might be a better option. But again, don't spend more than you can afford.
