Some people would LOVE to buy you such a staple item. I have registered for items that range from really cheap (hand towels) to really really expensive ($600 Sonos Sound Bar). All of the really expensive items are on Zola and have a group gift option.

I don't bake now - but when I have children and host family events I know a nice mixer will come in handy.

My mom gave me her pro line kitchen aid, so I didn't register for another one. Just the attachments. I use it frequently, but I also have a culinary degree.

If it's just going to sit in your kitchen, don't register for it. And I registered for plenty of high dollar items, BB&B is starting their group gifting this summer and I'm hoping a few people could contribute to one item. Worse case scenario, I buy it myself with the discount.

My favorite item on my registry is actually my China. The ladies at the store said a lot of people my age don't register for it anymore, but their guests look for it still. And I love nice plates and hosting. I look forward to passing them down to my children. And my mom is giving me hers (which are blue and will be my Easter dishes) so I'll be able to pass down whole sets.

FH's favorite is the nest. It has a whole line, but he really wants one.

That's your own personal preference, which is fine. You're supposed to register for high-value items, though. There's a chart that I've attached that shows you the typical breakdown of value of registered items. We didn't register for a mixer because we already got one, but we did register for extra attachments like a ravioli maker, and extra bowls. My favorite thing that we registered for is a new tent, a Roomba (for the hair that accumulates from our cats and dog), and beach chairs. So excited!
