Best Man as Officiant?

There's nothing wrong with having a member of your wedding party as your officiant if they are comfortable doing so. Photos being "even" doesn't matter regardless

Oh I'm a photographer and I don't care at all about our wedding party of family photos being uneven. My FH was considering having four groomsmen (two "now" friends and two of his best friends from high school), but I'm sure he ended up going with two because I was only having one bridesmaid. I'm pretty sure if I had three or more bridesmaids he would have asked his two high school friends to be his groomsmen as well, but he was concerned about things being so uneven. When we were originally thinking about who could officiate he mentioned one of my really close guy friends and said it would be nice because I'd have "more representation" (which I don't really care about).

My FH's best man would be an amazing officiant and I have no doubt he'd totally comfortable with doing it if we asked him. I think he's one of the best choices because he's a really competent public speaker, organized and well prepared, knew us both before we started dating, and has always been a really great friend of my FH and really supportive of us.
