Best Marker for Writing on Mirrors?

Heather, on March 23, 2019 at 8:34 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14
I’m looking for advice on the best markers for writing on a mirror. I want something permanent enough that it won’t come off when I’m transporting it to the venue or if somebody bumps into it or something, but I’d like to be able to use the mirrors I spent money for after the wedding too, so I’d also like it to be able to come off eventually with a little bit of elbow grease. Any ideas?

You could probably use chalk markers and maybe tape some cardboard over the whole mirror so it doesnt get bumped in transit

    Teacher trick-
Use a sharpie, then when you want to erase it, trace over it with a dry erase marker, and it will come right off.

They actually have paint markers- hobby lobby/micheals/etc. and you can just soak it with windex and then scrap it off 😊

China Markers are hard to find but that's what I'd suggest.

Sharpie makes water based markers that I've used for writing on mirrors. Also chalk markers work but wipe off easy.
You can always use nail polish remover to remove the writing.

I would do chalk markers - it definitely isn't easy to smudge, but will easily come off with water.

Paint markers work the best. You can get them at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. They come right off with a razor blade.

You can use permanent marker on mirror.. come off with alcohol if you make a mistake and need to rewrite something. also comes off with hand sanitizer and then just us windex to get the remains off so no smudge!

You can use chalk markers. I like utilizing this kit since it allows me to utilize any glass surface as a canvas. When I need to remind myself of what to buy, I may use my window as a notepad, or I can use it to decorate my house by drawing on it. It also removes quickly, so when I'm ready to start over and alter the pattern, I can just wipe it away with a wet cloth.

I think dry erase markers would be good but I’m not sure how durable it is if someone bumps into it
