Best music streaming service to use?

Emily, on March 14, 2021 at 5:18 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
We are planning to do our own music and just have a friend “manage” the music. What is the best music streaming service to use for a wedding? Preferably something that I can make a playlist and will automatically continue to the next song I have in que and also offers ad free. I currently use the Musi app that I love but it only plays the songs in shuffle and it doesn’t let me manipulate exactly what songs to play next.

ITunes has a playlist option. I’d go with that one that way it gives you more control over what songs are played. I’d recommend NOT using Spotify

I used Spotify Premium (about $10 a month) and I created playlists with songs that flowed into each other without ads. It worked like a charm!

I got a subscription to Apple Music and used iTunes for our cocktail hr. I worked out nicely. It’s $9.99 a month and you can download all the songs you want and create different play lists. You can shuffle the songs or create you playlist in a specific order and have it play.

We're also making playlists instead of having a DJ! Our plan is to use Spotify. We'll make the playlists before the wedding and then sign up for the free trial of Spotify Premium just before the wedding and cancel it after the wedding so we don't have to actually pay for it.

Spotify Premium is definitely the way to go, this is what I used for FSIL's backyard wedding in September. There are even advanced features that allow you to crossfade the songs into each other so there are more seamless transitions between songs so that there aren't awkward pauses of silence. Spotify Premium also allows you to download the songs locally so they can be used offline if Wifi is an issue.

Congrats on taking charge of the music for your wedding! It's always great to have a personalized touch to make the day even more special.
