Best place to print inserts for wedding invitations

Loretta, on January 6, 2014 at 10:33 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4

I had to create my own insert for the wedding invitations because I needed it double sided and all the inserts I could order were one-sided. The inserts have accommodation information and website info on one side and a map on the other side and they are in full color (including a background). I can fit 4 per 8.5" by 11" page, I need 156 inserts (so need to print 40 pages). I already bought the cardstock I am using. Where is the best value place to print these inserts? I want a place that is cheap (or not very expensive) but that will do a good job and make it look professional.

Have you thought about printing them at home? I printed my maps at home on paper I bought from Michaels. They match the font of my invitations (which I had professionally done) and you really can't tell that I did the maps myself.

If you already have the paper and design, why not try staples, or office depot?

Although you can simply print maps, driving directions and other accomodation text on home office paper, cutting the sheets down to the smaller insert sizes can still be a task. If you choose to set up and print at home, you can still bring in the stack of 4-up sheets to any area commercial printer. Most of them can help complete a stright, clean cut using their professional cutting equipment. Charges are nominal but you save time and headache of cutting each down with kitchen scissors!
