So you are planning for your wedding and picking out signs, special decor, planters, etc... But what are you going to do with ALL the decor after?
This question was brought up a few months ago before we started purchasing things and it got my mom and I wondering. SO here is the tip: If you know what type of house or style you just love and would want in your house, why not purchase decor items that fit that style for the wedding and afterward make them a part of your home?
Benefits:
You get to remodel or create something completely new in your home after the wedding
It is not wasted or looks out of place in the home
Can be more sentimental and settle for a great reminder of the big day, EVERY DAY in your home
No waste! Save the planet by not dumping out extras
Don't have to go through the hassle of reselling or regifting decor.
Cons...
Ummmmm None!
For example, I just bought these plain wooden signs from hobby lobby, after I stain them I am going to put mine and my fiance's favorite scriptures on them. When the wedding is over they will be hanging up in our bedroom or family room. I thought this was a much better idea instead of getting a typical wedding sign.
Another idea, instead of renting or purchasing barrels for the ceremony decor, we got milk jugs, made a flower arrangement with all my wedding colors and they will be used in both my house and my moms as a beautiful arrangement for years to come!
Don't think in the box, think outside the box!
