Best Thing about being Engaged?

I love going to weddings with a ring on my finger lol. When I attended weddings before getting engaged it made me wish I could be planning my own wedding and now I am! I also love calling my FH my fiance and I don't feel crazy for pinning wedding ideas because I actually do need them now!

No, I honestly love how FH and I's relationship has gotten even better since we've been engaged. I don't know how to describe it, we just seem even closer than we were before.

Other than that, I just want to be married already. I'm over being engaged.

I love knowing that I get to spend the rest of my life with FH! Before the ring, I had a guarded heart because I was afraid he would up and leave one day, but now I get him forever

We had talked about getting married a lot before getting engaged, so being engaged was a nice, extra reassurance that it wasn't just talk.

We did go to a wedding about 5 weeks after getting engaged, and it was definitely nice being able to go to that one (after going to several in a row w/o a ring) w/ a ring.

I was really excited about the wedding and the ring before I got engaged. But now that I really am that stuff seems a lot less important. I feel more secure in my relationship with my FH now that he really is my FH. We had been talking about marriage and living together for almost a year before we got engaged, but there was always this little nagging voice in the back of my head "what if he changes his mind" "you don't deserve this." Those doubts are completely gone. I don't know if it's the formal commitment or what, but I think he acts a little more like a protector now. Finally, we are a little more pragmatic and less dreamy when we talk about our future, and that's a good thing for us. We have been engaged for almost a year, so that may play a part in how I feel.

Engaged sex. Duh.

I second Kristen's response. I also feel like my relationship with FH has gotten better than it was, which I didn't think was possible (awww..soooo sappy). But I think for me, it's knowing that we have made the agreement to get married and have made that agreement as official as it gets. It's knowing that he's committed to me, and me to him. Adds a certain depth to the relationship I guess.

My favorite part was knowing that we were going to get married soon! We were so excited to take that next step, that it made our relationship so much stronger.

I love the way it has seemed to bring us even closer. But for us nothing much will change. We've been living with each other for over two years and he has always referred to me as his wife. So I guess now it will be for real.

But, again like Kristen said, I really feel like we are closer. And although I've always known he loves me and he always talks about our future/wedding/kids together, I feel a stronger bond with him and feel more comfortable also talking about our future together. Not sure why it took a ring that I wasn't even expecting to do that lol.

I love looking at my ring knowing what it means and I love that he likes to bring it up and just soak it in :]. Although he always tries to get me to cry (happy tears) because it makes him feel special and apparently also horny.. lol.

I love knowing my FH could have chose any girl to marry him but he chose me! And now we get to spend the rest of our lives together making memories. Its such a fun journey to have the person you love more than anything by your side!

Feeling like I'm becoming part of FH's family... My relationship with his parents has gotten a lot better since we got engaged.

Had to add another one! His sister is going to have her 1st child any day now and now I can refer to myself as the baby's Aunt for real!!!

I agree with previous posters about that I feel closer to FH and our relationship is even more awesome than it was before. I also think it's super hot how he has stepped up and started taking care of stuff! It might sound weird, but I think it's super sexy to come home and him tell me that he made an appointment with the DJ or that the title company is picking up our ernest money for our house. (I usually take care of most stuff) Getting engaged has made him really step up to the plate. He's gonna be an amazing husband and father!

I agree that our relationship got better and more fun. I think what I love the most is that he chose me out of all the people in the world to live his rest of his days! I feel so special and it doesn't hurt that I'll have sisters in law! I've always wanted sisters

Oh man - is someone peeling onions? So nice to hear how in love everyone is. I agree with the sentiments of feeling closer and more secure in my relationship and solidifying the team that we are about to become. Being engaged legitimizes you in some way and getting to stare at the shiny precious all day when work sucks is definitely an added bonus!
